3 Amigos 250 at Talladega Superspeedway

They also sponsored the K&N Pro Series race at Phoenix this year in Feb. Good to see a company sponsor a couple races. Hopefully we will see more sponsorship from them.

I wasnt commenting on that. Just saying I hope 3 Amigos keeps supporting racing with more sponsorships. ARCA or otherwise, race title sponsorship or cars or whatever.
 
Going to the track tomorrow. Unfortunatley I think I was right on the money for the car count. Highest paying race of the year for ARCA and they cant fill the field. Of course that could be due to the fee involved for buying your springs and renting your shocks from ARCA....that fee is north of $1000 easily.

Get ready for a BUNCH of short fields

Lol. These guys are on a big stage. They want to impress, and sometimes in this race, guys don't make the wisest decisions.

But it is Talladega. More than one guy may end up on his roof this weekend. And not just in the ARCA race.

I'll be watching.

Isn't Saturday morning loaded with practice sessions?

It's actually been a long time since an ARCA race has been postponed by rain. I know of races postponed a few hours by rain but I really can't think of the last time an entire race was postponed by an entire day. And I certainly can't think of the last time that postponed event was a companion race.

they postponed a race at daytona to sunday a few years ago.

I thought there was a more recent one than that, but i guess i was wrong. ARCA does manage to get really lucky with the rain. Some other series (like Canadian Tire Series 2009 had like half of their races rained out...) have pretty bad luck
 
If rain delayed, I would bet on a start for Sat. morning, or immediately following the Nationwide race.

Just don't push it to Monday. Drivers and crews (for both NASCAR and ARCA) are in a hurry to get out of town, and the racing usually reflects that. Usually.

It's obvious both you and I have been watching NASCAR for quite some time. For me, Monday races have not always been barn burners.

Last year's rain delayed Texas race was good. I'll give you that.

Not sure how you came to your conclusion in bold above.

Well, I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree.

As far as your list goes, I'll have to re-watch many on youtube. But that says more about my memory than the races themselves.

I could look up how many races have occured on Monday since 2001 due to a rain delay, and obtain a percentage of Monday races held versus what you consider to be barn burners. But I won't. We could go on all night. And for what?

And your definition of a barn burner may differ from mine.

Look, drivers and crews can see the 3/4 (sometimes half) filled stands on Mondays. They've lost a day in travel. TV viewership will be way down, so drivers looking to impress new sponsors may not be putting it all on the line, so to speak. (I know, they should regardless).

It seems, exciting NASCAR races on Mondays after a rain delay are the rule with you. To me, they are the exception.

Let's see what happens tomorrow. I'll watch the ARCA race regardless of what day it should occur. Should it run on Monday, I won't be able to watch it live (assuming SPEED carries it live). Gotta do the 9 to 5 thing.
 
Well I got up early for the freight train here, but Terry Jones just had about the biggest engine failure since Smoke shot out 20 foot flames at Texas.:eek:
 
I noticed Speed is calling it the "ARCA Racing Series 250" not the 3 Amigos 250. I guess Speed demanded money from 3 Amigos too. Cant call it by the actual race name unless they get money, nice. Never saw them call a race "Craftsman Truck Series 250"
 
Heck, if it weren't for the occasional car pulling out of line and attempting to pass, we probably wouldn't see a pass in this race at all. Anyone that trys that move simply takes their place at the end of the field. Riveting, just riveting. What time does this race actually start?

I think its more like they didn't want pay any royalties to the movie makers of 3 Amigos.
