# DNF Streak: #45-Kyle Petty has the longest streaks without a DNF (did not finish) and starting all the races (in 2002 and 2003) at 39 (last DNF in the 2002 Daytona 500).
#24-Jeff Gordon was the driver who had the longest streak [and modern era record] without a DNF (did not finish) and starting all the races at 56 (his last was at Darlington in March 2001, 31 races + all 25 in 2002 until Richmond). Gordon DNF'd at Richmond on 9-7-2002 with engine problems. The all-time record is 84 races held by Herman Beam from April 30, 1961 thru March 10, 1963 (from the book - NASCAR Most Wanted by Jim McLaurin. The modern era [1972-present] record was held [Gordon broke it at Michigan] by the late great Dale Earnhardt at 53 races, from Indy in 1996 thru (including) Martinsville in the spring of 1998. See my DNF Page for past DNF's and who has the most [not yet updated after Atlanta].(3-9-2003)

Yeah Us Petty fans don't have much to brag abot yet!! So this is just as good as it gets for mow!! Its nto a bad record to have either after coming off the horrible 2001 season where he missed 12 races!!
