Knaus shakes up No. 48 crew

(Daytona Beach Fla.)- Jimmie Johnson isn't one to stand on a pat hand, either. In the wake of back-to-back championships, crew chief Chad Knaus has replaced both tire changers on the No. 48 pit crew, reportedly with former crew members from Yates Racing (though the team has not announced the names of the new hires).
Tim Ladyga, Johnson's rear tire changer in 2007, has moved to the No. 24 Chevrolet of Johnson's teammate, Jeff Gordon. Front tire changer Mike Trower has taken a job with the No. 41 Chip Ganassi Racing Dodge driven by Reed Sorenson, crew chief Jimmy Elledge said Monday night.
Johnson posted the fastest time in each of the first three test sessions at Daytona, topping the field Tuesday morning with a speed of 184.763 mph.
