Absolutely not and that is my point as far as her abilities go. I believe at best she is an average driver. Don't get me wrong .... she can drive the wheels off of me but then again I already know I'm not good enough. It's been said a million times and I'll repeat it again ... it's the money she can bring to a team that gets her signed. Find a driver in the Nationwide series with her record and you won't see HIM in the Sprint cup series. Where is Johnny Benson today? A champion driver in the trucks and now he is out. My belief is that there are more deserving drivers out there who won't get a chance just because they cannot bring the money into an organization. Money is good but it doesn't necessarily make for good racing.

It is in the eye of the beholder, but she apparently does appeal to many, as evidenced by GoDaddy's investment and many others. I find her attractive.

I don't know that it has anything to do with her gender. I mean, Johanna Long is five times the driver Danica is, she's not bad looking and she can't even get a quality NW ride. John Wes Townley, Paul Menard, Tim George Jr ... there are plenty of male drivers who got rides solely on sponsorship and marketability.
 
Why oh Why do people think she'll ever become more than a barely decent driver. I really wanted her to succeed but the dissappointment keeps on coming.

Yep. I really want to see a woman break a barrier as old as NASCAR itself, but Danica isn't the one. It's time to give up on Danica and give a real driver a top-caliber ride. Johanna Long is a wheel and she's the only female driver who I see that can break that barrier anytime soon.

Although that Taylor Ferns chick who's running the ARCA Racing Series looked good at Daytona this weekend. As much as I hate Venturini winning, I would love to see Taylor or Justin Boston (from Baltimore) win that race which I intend to be at BTW.

I see Johanna's name mentioned all the time but if she is truly as good as many seem to think then why isn't she getting good backing? I'd think that any girl/woman that you would put in a car will draw big sponsorship, if they can be successful. It would open up a whole new array of sponsor potential. You can insert the juvenile jokes here. Why aren't the larger organizations willing to give her a chance? Personally I don't think that these car owners seem to think that she's as good as many here seem to think. If they did, I think they'd be backing her.

Danica came along. When it comes to women and sports, unfortunately, it's about marketing. Men tune in to women's beach volleyball before they turn on soccer -- and for one reason only. If they can get Danica in a bikini, they'll sponsor her before they'll sponsor an accomplished racer like Johanna Long. Danica's not good for women in racing.

I give ESPN a lot of credit for talking about Johanna. If they keep saying, on air that Johanna's got more talent than Danica will ever have on her best day, maybe people will listen eventually.

I don't totally disagree with your assessment but look at his record and compare it to the likes of Mark Martin. Martin is not a Championship driver but he is far better than average. Junior got a break into the sport because of who he is, much like Michael Waltrip, the Allisons, Dale Jarrett, the Dillons and countless others.

My comments about Danica are based on stats. There are many drivers in Nationwide with far better stats who cannot get a ride ... quality or not. She brings money not ability that is top notch. I understand not every driver can be of top notch quality but all things considered .... she's average at best and I'm not convinced she is even that.

I'd like to see a couple woman drivers in NASCAR just to end the hype. (The car doesn't know the difference). The media uses Danica and Danica uses the media - fair trade. A good measure next season will be Stenhouse vs. Danica. How well have previous rookies done in the past?
