6 cars to the wind tunnel

Extra downforce on the driver side to balance out the car? Maybe this fiasco will result in these zoomed in shots being a thing of the past, so nascar doesn’t continue looking like the incompetent imbeciles they’ve become?
Its drag more then downforce

This is just the latest way teams stretch the rules. Inspection at the track is under static conditions. The teams figured out how to change the shape of the car at speed which reverts to the required shape during post race inspection. Smokey Yunick lives on. And NASCAR has another problem to resolve.

The 90's : the twisted sisters.
The 10's: the shapeshifters

What the hell is this ?.

Pretty sure they call that "downforce"

Funny how it's RR and LF that"s flexing. Like the whole roof is twisting. Hmm..... makes you wonder.

I'd like to see photos of them on the straights. All of these are in the corners. I know it doesn't really matter, but is it purely aero or have they reached a point where they're having the car flex under G load in corner as well? Man, I miss the days of mechanical grip and shock setups instead of pure aero. I spoke with someone today in the know that said it's to the point that the struts and braces under the car are shaped like wings to generate downforce on air passing under the car. (probably common knowledge, but still)

There is no aero-independence at 200 mph.
True. Still, the ultimate engineering would be to have it rigid on straights to deflect air over spoiler, then twist and deform under G load in corner to allow more air to the spoiler. I know, I know... That's beside the point, but I'm a geek and that would have some "cool factor" with me, even if it's not kosher with the rule book. Until a driver that I don't like uses it to win, then grab your torches and pitchforks. ;)

Don't forget the left front fender, you want that to reach out a grab some air to plant the front end down..(they need to get rid of the splitter and the pan behind it.) The teams don't need it to make downforce, and it makes the cars too fragile. They almost have it done anyway.
