Alan Kulwicki for the HoF?

It's not about what he would have done. It's about what he did. There are a lot of people in front of AK but he'll get there eventually.

If accomplishment in Nascar's top series was the only barometer then AK should have been in before guys like Jack Ingram, Wendell Scott, Richie Evans and Jerry Cook, IMO.

Aside from the '79 Daytona 500, I think the 1992 Hooters 500 was the most significant race in NASCAR history.

It was an edge of your seat kind of day. If memory serves the Underbird was Roush Racing car in Hooters garb.

Folks should write in Ann B France and the France family pets too.

Shoot, I would write Ann B Davis if she was still alive but maybe I will email Florence Henderson instead.

This whole Mark Martin agenda is a bit unseemly, coming from one who - in another thread - claims to be a journalist and criticizes the journalistic standards of other writers. IMO. YMMV.
I don't see anything wrong with it........ journalists have opinions the same as all us regular Joes.... He's on a message board..... why can't he have an opinion just like the rest of us?

Kulwicki was one of the first non-southern drivers to really make a mark in the sport. He helped put the midwest / great lakes region on the map for stock car racing. That alone should be enough for him to become a HoF inductee.

I am not a fan of HOF's in general. Not at all. I will never wait for a vote from some panel to asses the greatness that AK was. Loved his story. Throw Buddy Baker into that comment as well.

Getting ready to vote.....

Why the very first champion, Red Byron, didn't go in first time HoF balloting was opened is puzzling.

I thought they should have added more people the first year to establish a core of excellence as a yardstick for future inductees. It is not all about wins, it is also about those who helped the sport, innovated, and moved the sport forward.

I think his story is pretty amazing. That's the kind of stuff I wanna see in a HoF.

The way nascar has been going the last 10 years Danica will be in the HOF before Alan.
