Not even talking to him and he gets in the middle with his "I started watching NASCAR in 2009" takes and then goes on to try to teach me how to use "you're" and "your" when he doesn't even know the difference between the two.

Well I will get my popcorn and move on then, it was still fun to watch though BTW I always use "your" cause I never figured out how to write it the other way

Might be a good idea to start a new thread about UR/you're/your and move all these posts there. There is apparently enough interest to warrant one...
 
Oh look, another unnecessary change. <_< Not crazy about this move, as I typically don't watch truck races, but always watch the Showdown before the All-Star.
 
I don't like them changing things every few years. It's like trying to fix something that ain't broke.

Reading the press release, it looks like they're trying to get the Truck Series some more exposure. Considering the financial condition of that series and the introduction of the new truck I can see why they would want to do that.

The schedule change means that fans can watch both NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers battle on Friday night, May 16. It is the only date on the NASCAR schedule where both truck and Sprint Cup drivers will compete in non-qualifying contests on the same night at the same venue.

Also, this means the top two from the Showdown and the Fan Vote winner will get to make qualifying runs on Saturday rather than automatically starting at the back of the field.

I agree. I was surprised to see the ratings for the truck races were so low compared to the Cup races. The truck races always seem to be really good. Always have been. The fans that I personally know, AKA friends and family, watch all the televised nascar events, not just the Cup series events.

According to the TV ratings, it seems the majority of nascar "fans" only care about the Cup series races.
 
Put the Trucks, Nationwide, or Cup Series on the track and I'll be there watching, home watching, or DVRing to watch later. It's still all racing to me. I've already lived through the biggest change in the sport and the Chase format still hasn't driven me away. I'm here for the long haul. Let's throw that damn green already on this season so we can all start bitching at the racing rather than each other. That crap was old in December and it's even more stale in January. Come on February! Only a couple short weeks away from cars on the track and it can't come soon enough. :cool:
