And The Race Is ON!

field filler was running 26th on the lead lap, not exactly field filling, and Newman was running top 10 all night so not uncompetitive

Yeah but in case you didnt notice all the field fillers made it to half way tonight. Sounds like there actually getting scared Nascar will take there cars.

Terrible finish. Worst finish of the year. Hack car without a shot wins because field filler eats the wall. Unpredictible finish.

How is an unpredictable finish the wors finish of the year? And when did Newman become a hack car? And iwithout a shot at the win? Seriously? He was running top 5 most of the latter portion of the race.

strange ending to a good race. ryan got the win but didn't deserve it imo. he had a good race but jj, jeff and kyle were all more deserving. not sure i like it when undeserving cars/drivers win the race on a crap shoot ending. just doesn't seem right. exciting and gimmicky no doubt but just not right. i want deserving drivers to win. this isn't a shot at newman. i like him fine and he drove a good race but this win sucked. a win is a win though.

Why was Jeff more deserving of the win in this race than Ryan. For the last 100 or so laps, the 24 and the 39 were within a couple positions of each other, each in front of the other at different times. 20 laps to go, they were both battling, side-by-side for 5th or 6th. Not sure I get your logic.

Yeah, you're right. I was grumpy last night. I kinda let some issues here at home spill into the forum.
It was good to see Newman in Victory lane. He's been struggling lately and this win bumped him up 6 spots in the standings. Good call on the two tires...

Since when do drivers "deserve" the win just because they have a fast car, or lead the most laps, or haven't won in a while?

I like unpredictablity. Last night was the perfect example of being in the right place at the right time. Ryan's CC took the gamble on 2 tires, and Ryan made the right move at the right time.

That's what makes racing fun. You never know what will happen. If drivers get awarded wins just because "they deserve it", then I'm through.

I think it's a good idea to run the race even though an unknown might win. It's better than just deciding the outcome on owner points. Then we would miss the commercials and (oh yeah) the race.

Kyle Busch said over his radio that it was "..a show, not a race". Somebody tell him that pit strategy and just plain luck are a part of racing.

jj and kyle did screw up going with 4 tires while the others took 2. and jeff did spin his tires on the last restart allowing ryan to get the jump on him. i withdraw my earlier comment.
