Any gruntled fans on this board?

I like watching and attending NASCAR races. I don't care what anyone else thinks about it. I purchase apps that enhance my experience and enjoy the show. Obviously there are things that can be aggravating but allowing oneself to become aggravated to the point of freaking out like Andy and a few others is utterly ridiculous.

The races this year have been better then the last couple of years. Sorry anyone with half a brain would complain about the crappy job TNT has done this year.
 
I admit to being a disgruntled fan. But I must still care a little because I complain. Sorry if I annoy you, but if all you want to hear is "everything's coming up roses" then you're hiding your head in the sand. Empty seats at tracks that used to sell out proves my point.

There was a story years ago about Dale Earnhardt Sr. consoling Jeff Gordon when fans started booing Gordon. I couldn't find the quote, but essentially Earnhardt told Gordon that the boos were okay - it was silence that you didn't want to hear. Boos mean they still notice.

Silence is death for anybody who needs to attract sponsorship in order to carry out his livelihood.

No one is asking for 'everything is coming up roses'. But a few people come here week after week and bitch about the same things over and over and over.... At some point it get to be ridiculous reading their posts because it's the same bitching week after week.

The network sucks
Too many commercials
They didn't show the debris for the caution
The track is boring
Cup drivers in the NW race ruined the race
Tony Stewart is a pretentious windbag

If you're gonna bitch at least come up with a new complaint?

a politically correct bitcher? Or is that bitchee. Ok I'll try..there is too much red in the stands it confuses the filters my new "Brian" exclusive 500 sun shades. I won't go back to the track until they have grey poupon, I absolutely refuse to use that yellow substance in a packet.
 
I have complaints at times but for the most part I am thankful to be able to watch these races live every week.
When I was growing up, many many years ago, the only live race on TV was the Indy 500 and the only wayI got to watch it was if my Dad wanted it on.
Other than that it was very small bits on Wide world of sports.
Maybe part of the problem with the younger fans is the fact that it was always available to them growing up, cable TV brought lots of channels compared to maybe 4 network channels and a couple of UHF odd ball channels back in the 60's and 70's.
 
I used to be a huge NASCAR fan until this year. My hatred for NASCAR's leadership (the disgusting Brian France) and the complete destruction of the championship system has really turned me off this year.

I used to come to this forum every week and read every thread; now I come about twice a week and read a few threads.

I still enjoy watching most Cup races, though. The over saturation of commercials is a TNT problem, ans should go away when ESPN takes over.
 
We need to collectively get together and get BF voodoo dolls and plot this man's demise. I know it ain't right but sometimes you gotta do bad stuff to clear the way for good. I'm willing to sacrifice my (what) conscience and future place in heaven for the sake of the sport. :)

Not me, I've used up my allotment of Voodoo for this year on an annoying neighbor that show's up unannounced whenever we fire up the grill. :cool:

I don't like the new qualifying and chase formats but I'm happy for the most part. Except when my drivers don't finish well. The racing has been great this year.
 
Ive grown more accustomed to watching the racing itself & ignoring the asinine points debauchery we have now. If one thing hasn't changed, its the racing and the desire the drivers have to win.

I suppose that Kyle and Denny have "team orders" to let Matty win this silly plate race, he has the best of everything so they might as well help the poor guy out a little :rolleyes:

Something race-altering like this is OK going unseen? I can't imagine CBS or NBC not showing a replay of that pass interference call late in the 4th quarter that costs a team a first down, 30 yards, and eventually the game. Or ESPN not replaying the shot-clock violation on a basketball team's final possession. Or TBS not showing the foul ball down the line. Of course fans are going to be skeptical when the VP of competition publicly states he doesn't mind TV not showing the reason for the debris caution.
