I am so ****** pumped right now. Our first ever national team championship, the first team from our conference to ever win one, heck the first to even make the title game. An amazing game Marshall got ahead 1-0 but we equalized in the 81st minute and one it on an amazing breakaway in overtime!

Let's not get too excited, it's American college soccer.
They'd probably have a tough time beating the SG Friedrichsgrün.

Can't believe Liverpool has lost against Plymouth Argyle. You can expect anything in the FA Cup.

Wow, PSG couldn't win the Champions League with Messi, Neymar and Mbappé and now that they're gone they win it by a whopping 5-0 against Inter.
This felt like a first league team playing against a third league team. Very uncharacteristic for a final.

Watching the Club World Cup game between Lisbon and Munich in Charlotte right now.
Stadium is maybe half full. This is the most dead crowd I've ever seen for an international soccer match. The game I attended in Mongolia had more ecstatic fans.

I couldn’t even tell you what network(s) the Club World Cup is televised on here. There’s zero hype or interest in it whatsoever. The Gold Cup is pretty dumb, but at least there’s a vague sense that it’s being held here right now.

I'm assuming the Mongolians had a local team to pull for. If I wound up attending a match with two out-of-country teams I had no connection with, I probably wouldn't make much noise either.

But I'm just in this discussion because I was trying to figure out where this tournament fits into international football's organizational structure. The various leagues and tournaments and cups confuse the heck out of this non-fan.
