Do you think that the reduced weight of the Gen 6 + brake technology made everybody else better which reduced his advantage or do you think that there is something inherent to the Gen 6 that made him worse? I am of the former thinking rather than the later? Your thoughts....

I really don't know aside from the obvious, I am not up to date on the latest brake technology and I would have to BS even more than usual to answer the questions. 2014 just didn't workout as well for Toyota.

I applaud your loyalty through a tough year, JGR is strong they should do better in 2015.
Sometimes a good driving performance goes unnoticed when the cars are a little weaker. I think the three JGR drivers did a good job with what they had this year.

They will probably have a more competitive car next year, the same level of driving probably will get a lot of wins in 2015. I will be surprised if all four don't win at least twice each and fail to run well into the Chase elimination rounds.

Since Gordon got booted out of the chase, I wanted Harvick to get it, I was at the edge of my seat when Hamlin caught up.

Whole lot of people think JGR is this huge powerhouse team, but compared to Penske, Hendrick, Roush, Childress, and Stewart Haas, they do a whole bunch with less. The Gibb's are well off, but have nowhere the resources to draw from that the others listed have. there are billionaires in the first two listed, and the others are multi millionaires. They do a great job with what they have, but when it comes to car changes, they can't compete as quickly because they can't throw money at it like the others can. They started coming on towards the end of the year and they overall had a good year with Hamlin leading the way, put two out of three cars in the chase, not bad IMO, and one made the final four. I not that great a fan of anything JGR, but you got to give them their due, they did an outstanding job of catching up and peaking at the right time, that car was a good as any of them out there. Denny blew it again when you get right down to it, he screwed up the next to the last restart I think it was and was playing catch up from that point. These guys are too good to make mistakes when you are competing with three others for the title. Hamlin and Logano made mistakes, Logano made two, and you see where he ended up. Harvick and Newman ran mistake free and the rest is history.

Stewart is my favorite with Kyle being a close second. The rest I am meh to or hate. I've actually been wondering if is possible to change my name on here lol

Appreciate the props on the loyalty. I'm all in, and actually enjoyed on a certain level the chase for speed that ultimately ended in success. Denny had plenty of speed when it mattered most.

No question the drivers got more than the cars would give. I don't think Kyle was happy with his car flag to flag all year.

I believe that it is essential that next year is better. Should be fascinating to see it all play out.

You probably won't believe this but I have a very strong dislike for Denny and Carl.

my hope is that this thread doesn't go off the tracks. I consider myself a fan of the sport. I do have drivers I like more than others. But for me the sport is about people and personalities of course outside the actual racing itself. With the drivers that I don't like or historically haven't liked, often times I find myself feeling sorry for them and I actually like seeing them do well and revive their careers. 2 drivers come to mind for me. The first is jamie mcmurray. to me the guy has always been kinda a pretty boy. he had some ruff years at roush. The he moved back to chip, and won 3 races that year. While I am still not a big fan of his I actually liked seeing him revive what had been a sinking career. The other is kurt busch I actually felt sorry for the guy and rooted for him when he was in finches car and later in the furniture row car. That is why I consider myself a fan of the sport.

Then comes hamlin. as we got down to the final 4 yesterday I really didn't care who won it I just didn't want to see hamlin win it. The thing is I don't really know why I dislike the guy so much. does anyone else feel this way?? I saw a graphic once I don't remember where. it showed a hamlin win was the least popular with TV audiences. Please keep this respectful. If you are a hamlin fan thats ok, I don't dislike you too. I am just trying to figure out whats so unpopular about this guy. I have some things that have really turned off but I don't want to poison the responses

I have a very strong dislike for Denny as I do with most bullies. He didn't try to race Bad Brad while he was in Junior's car in the NNS, he tried to bully him and bragged on TV that he was going to wreck him. Personally what he saw in Brad was someone who can kick his ass on the race track and he was right. Once Joey was away from JGR, Denny tried the same thing, to intimidate him. Probably Denny is the reason Joey did so bad at JGR. However when Denny went after Joey, he made a mistake and wrecked his car as well as injured himself.

Feel sorry for him??? Never, he got what he deserved. Not only did Brad get his championship before Denny, and Carl who tried the same tactics, I predict that Joey will also.
In answer to your question, Denny's actions and verbal statements earned him my dislike. Notice I did not say HATE.

I remember him spinning out at Pocono, twice IIRC, and coming back to win the race. More often than not it's always the other guys fault, never his, for a incident.
He's always near the top of the charts as the season winding down and implodes snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.
