Anyone here really think we'll have 16 different winners by the time the Chase begins?

I duno that splitter looks like it should be closer to the ground. Wont make for much down force... lol

I have to be honest. I think we could have more than 16 winners before we hit Chicago.

Kenseth
Vickers
Johnson
Gordon
Larson
(Talladega)
Stewart
Bowyer
Ambrose
Kahne
Biffle
Newman

Points still matter boys.

Yup... of that list I think at least 5 or 6 of them are almost guaranteed winners. But if anyone get 2 wins then points don't matter for them. It's impossible for 16 drivers to get 2 wins. It's going to be good I know that much.

Of course they still matter. Just not to the point where teams won't make risky calls or drivers won't make risky moves when they think they have even a slight chance to win.

Who was your math teacher? He/she needs a good talking to.

You sure about that? o_O

I am of course talking about the regular season as indicated in the thread title.. I assume you are including the chase?

16x2=32

32>26

Math is actually by far my best subject.

Were you one of the guys trying to say 5% of 100 million is less than 10% of 10 million? LOL

Which is the bigger travesty ? That a couple of those guys don't make the chase ? Or that we get a couple of one and only career win guys or girls that do get in .

Neither... if the guys that "should" win don't... then they should have done better.... if someone gets their first career win and gets in... good for them!

It's been kind of a weird year, we currently have a winless points leader and two guys that are 25th and 26th in points with wins, and hence, are in the Chase.

I know one thing, Kurt Busch and Kevin Harvick should send Brian France a big 'ol fruit basket for implementing this "win and you're in" system.

16 different winners by Richmond - not likely but possible. I don't see Matt Kenseth, Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart and Clint Bowyer being shut out this year. Then there's Biffle, Gordon, Kahne and Newman. Also got to figure Kyle Larson will get a win here soon. That's 17 right there. Then there's the restrictor plate races where anything can happen.

But,at the same time, it only takes a handful of drivers getting two wins or a couple drivers getting three or four wins to begin to eliminate the possibility. Kevin Harvick would probably have three or four wins by now if not for silly bad luck. Dale Jr would have two wins if he had a couple more drops of gasoline in the tank. Jimmie Johnson doesn't usually warm up and get on his annual hot streak until the summer usually right around Indianapolis. Kyle Busch usually gets hot for about a month in the spring and clicks off a handful of wins. Denny Hamlin usually gets on a hot streak when he gets a win and knocks off multiple wins.

Looks like Danica will be getting the plate with the big holes again.

mmm.....we'll see if everybody remains happy if Danica and Mears get into the chase and Gordon and Johnson don't . I have my doubts that all will be quiet in R-Fville.

Yeah and it'll definitely hit the fan when Bill Elliott comes out of retirement along with Richard Petty and then Rutledge Wood decides to race and they all make the chase. Rutledge for the cup!! :D

I wish they kept it top twenty in points. That's at least somewhat of a middle ground.

The JGR crew just about got it figured out IMO the three of them should be good for 4 or 5 apiece before the year is out

They got 1 win already and are running better all the time, I wont write Gibbs off yet its just too early
Not writing them off.... but don't expect that many.... keep in mind Kyle did by no means whatsoever have the best car for that win. Pit call and good timing. But then again we can say the same thing of 3 or 4 of Kenseths wins from last year too.

Kenseth had some mighty good cars last year, I developed some new cuss words every time he had one

Kenseth also had bad luck or wrecked 3 or 4 times he had the car to beat. That stuff usually ends up evening out

16? No. Close though.

I'm predicting around 12-14.
