Anyone starting to get excited for the season to start?

Hel yea! I can't wait for the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona! :D

Not as much As I used to. We get really busy in the summer with camping, biking, kayak and being outdoors. It's hard to stay cooped up inside to watch a race, living in Wisconsin. I do DVR races to watch sunday night, but so many are boring I fall asleep..oh well

I'm getting pretty excited, been watching old F1 and NASCAR races when i have time.
It will be nice to get back to doing this day in NASCAR history, i enjoy doing those

I'm disappointed. I feel like the rug has been pulled out from under me. I will find other stuff to do on Sundays.

I am so ready for Daytona. I got a little racing a few weeks ago with the Rumble series.

I'd find that the races from...... 2 decades older......... would be more exciting.

I like the old stuff as well, that says something about the modern product I guess. My favorite oldies are from the era when the 3 had a real driver ( Earnhardt)

I am starting to get excited. It's building inside slowly. I don't care so much for the cup crap, I just want to see Daytona.

This NASCAR fan is ready … When football season is over there is only one other sport I follow … racing … :pbjtime:

Am I the only one who's excited? I mean I'm not only excited because of the Sprint Cup, but also because in a few months, the local track and regional touring series would also be starting up again. :D

Nope. The NASCAR season is a grind on all humans involved directly to it in so many ways to hard to list. As a fan, it doesn't bother me but for those involved they're probably wondering where and if they really do have an off season what happened to all those days of leisure.

Just set this up yesterday after the game. I'm pumped for the 500

For me the season starts a couple of days prior to the Sprint Unlimited. Just a month away. I'll start getting excited when I flip the calendar to February.

I don't get as pumped for the start of the season as I used to, but I'll still be glad when it starts back up again.

This.

And I have always disliked how long they stay at Daytona. I swear they camp out there for nearly a month.

After about the third event there, it gets really boring and its just a grind.

You sure do get bored awfully easy

Honestly, I kind of wish they did more than just Daytona in the weeks before the Daytona 500. I know there's a short track nearby, maybe focus on the races in that track for a night or two, maybe show some dirt track actions. I think Speedweeks before the Daytona 500 should focus on all forms of Stock Car racing.

Hey Kmart … check out this from 50 years ago … road racing at Riverside in land barges …

You got to admit these guys had balls of steel. I mean damn, the Joe Weatherly crash was awful, he died instantly. I mean for god's sake not even a few rubber tires there.

Man, we have come a long way since then.

There are better events going on at Volusia and New Smyrna for sure. I've grown tired of restrictor plate racing. The best experience is the 24H anyways.

I won't get too excited about the upcoming season until we hit the Rolex 24 in a couple weeks. Until then, the Superbowl, the NHL and my daughters sports activities will keep me busy.

I'm starting to feind... Not chomping at the bit like I have in the past. I'll probably give more of a **** in a few weeks.
