Just curious if they are covering this championship weekend where you live?

Here in western PA, Pittsburgh market, I haven't seen/heard it mentioned once this week. Out local television news may mention a winner from time to time on their Monday morning weekend wrap up but it's seldom anything more than that. Likewise on the sports radio coverage around here. Unless something amazing or catastrophic happens you'd never know the sport existed. Not even the sports Championship weekend prompts a mention.

I haven't even seen a network ad , let alone any local coverage . Reporters are all busy doing live remotes from Chucky Cheese .

My local FOX affiliate in Tampa normally does but I haven't watched as of late. They used to even cover January testing at Daytona.

here in philly nope
only time they even say anything is usually with Dover or Pocono.

Nothing in upstate NY. Honestly though whoever has been in charge of marketing for NASCAR this year is really making me scratch my head..... drivers (aka random people) running through a wooded obstacle course with their helmets on?? Or this one from their instagram account yesterday:

Saw that photo yesterday and thought it was AWESOME

Lower right hand corner of Virginia.

TV, no idea. Don’t watch it for anything but sports.

Local AM talk I listen to usually mentions it. Sister station runs MRN ‘n PRN for cup races only. A classic rock station on FM I did listen to changed formats. They hadda NASCAR freak DJ workin’ mornin’s. He used to organize bus trips to the shows. Ain’t heard from him since the switch. Guess he’s gone. Doubtful he fits in now. Acquainted with ‘im off the air 'n ain’t thinkin’ he’d wanna be playin’ the new stuff anyhow.

They cover Nascar on the local news here just before and just after a race.
I watched the Saints, Panthers game on NBC last night and they had really good Nascar commercials almost every break. They also had a spot about the Nascar HOF. It surprised me.

No more or less differently than the local media covers every other race. Three half-columns in the Sunday paper, a mention of the winner on the local news. At least that's what it's been in the past. The weekend is just starting, but I don't see any reason to expect more.

I've been surprised by NBC's plugs for each chase race and now the championship during their Sunday Football games, even if they spoiled the Charlotte race for me . The tour of the NASCAR hall of fame last night was a neat touch too.

^ Trying to boost their ratings and drive up ad rates per minute.

They're responsible to themselves for those things.

I feel like they only care during the first half when they have the broadcasts. We would get those little Chip Carter spots. That, and when the 400 rolls around in July.

Can't say I watch 8 or 10 much but I don't think they've said anything either.

Yep those were the ones! Met him once actually as I was walking in to watch NCAA tournament practice. Nice guy, took a picture holding the FOX 13 mic - probably the corniest photos I've ever taken but hey why not lol.

NBC has been doing a pretty good job promoting it. I saw several plugs for it during the Seahawks-Patriots SNF game as well.

We have not had any coverage of Homestead but it isn't unusual as the local stations stopped covering NASCAR several years ago. I have been in northern Michigan the last few days and I have not seen or heard any NASCAR coverage but I have met between 5-10 locals who are NASCAR fans. These folks personify the stereotype of the typical NASCAR fan and are rednecks without the accent. No offense meant as they are great people and would do anything for you.

There's a channel or two round here that cover every race and big news. All my local radio stations cover it heavily.

NASCAR still rules out in that part of Virginia.

Everything down where I live revolves around the Carolina ****** Panthers and college basketball.

I have no idea, but I doubt it, in the past, local media only covered NASCAR when its our time for the race.

I dont pay attention to what the local talking heads here cover in terms of sports, I have no use for it.

A syndicated column by George Diaz of the Orlando Sentinel appeared in Friday's Chicago Tribune but other than that there's been nothing race related by the local media that I've seen.

Then again, there's virtually no mention in this area of the race at Chicagoland in the week leading up to that race, which kicks off the Chase.
