Are Indy fans more mature than NASCAR fans?

To be fair to RPK, Sneva is the biggest knob in racing and the biggest knob in motorsports broadcasting. I used to like him in an anti-hero wrestling villain sort of way until he was openly mocking CART while doing the color commentary for the IRL. I hope he chokes on his prune juice on the golf course in Arizona or where ever he is.*

* - I'm joking, but only barely.

The highlited best describes say...95% of the NASCAR fans that "boo" drivers. There has to be a villain, and, it's all really done in good fun. IMO.

The other 5% are described in the latter part my post.

I like a little hating, as long as I am just watching, and other people are getting the noses busted.
I remember being at Wilksboro in 91 when Gant was making his famous bid for 5 wins in a row, all while being over 50 years old.

It was a feel good story, but I didnt care I wanted Earnhardt to win and he did. I remember folks giving Dale the finger, that just made it sweeter and my smile bigger.
Another time I got the VIP treatment from Tide and Hendrix when DW was driving for him and Tide (I worked for P&G at the time). I wore my black # 3 cap to their shop, I guess that was redneck, but I enjoyed it anyway, good times.
Trying to prove your class or intellectual capabilities at a race seems dumb to me. Passing up sleazy opportunities is also a waste, best to enjoy them while you can. One day you may be in a postion that requires You to not act crazy, and you will regret not making the most of your sleazy opportunities.

The fact that a company like Aaron's chooses to spend such massive sums to reach NASCAR fans is pretty telling. They target people with bad credit who can't do basic multiplication. Sad.

Damn shame the ol' out of work Montel with quick loans don't sponsor a car, you could be really be sad, ya might even shed a tear.

For what it's worth, I grew up in New Jersey where NASCAR really isn't on anyone's radar. I'm a huge football fan, hockey fan, baseball fan, and college basketball fan. I got thrown into NASCAR a few years ago for business purposes, so I was never really "a NASCAR fan." I went straight from not caring, to being on the inside.

So I say the following without the normal bias: I'd sooner take my two daughters to a NASCAR race before most of the NFL, MLB, NHL or college game atmospheres I've attended. Those all have the potential to get pretty ugly/mean/etc. Yeah, NASCAR definitely has its fair share of...how should I say this..."loose values" floating around throughout the weekend. But pound for pound, I find the NASCAR fan to be nicer, more pleasant, and more accepting of other people than any fan of any of the other sports I've mentioned. At least in my experiences. It just always seems like a nicer bunch.

:biggrin: That made me chuckle. BTW, you mispelled multiplication.

Ha made you look!

Okay so I'm immature :moon:
