December 2015 at the Kennedy Center...
R.I.P. Aretha Franklin. One of the best.
A great loss to music. Such a powerful voice.
Someone pointed out today that she died on the same date as Elvis, 41 years apart.
Truly a legend. RIP Aretha.
Wow, apparently she had no will or trust.
I should show her some Respect , RIP, a true music icon .
I suddenly want to watch The Blues Bothers ( both) now.
News reports say Detroit has turned out this week for a massive celebration of the life and music of Aretha Franklin. "The First Lady Of Soul" lies in repose today at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
And she arrived in style... in a white 1940 Cadillac LaSalle that also served 34 years ago in the funeral of her father, noted pastor and civil rights activist Rev. C.L. Franklin. That same Cadillac also transported civil rights icon Rosa Parks in 2005, and Temptations singer David Ruffin in 1991. That's cool.
She contracted the same cleaning service (conspirators) and built herself a lovely home in the same gated community that Elvis uses. They will even go out and Karoke their own songs and the stupid public still will not know they are getting played.
