Because NASCAR has fined drivers for cussing during interviews and other minor things, so you'd think they would fine Stewart over the helmet toss as well.

Exactly. Some people confuse thinking nascar MIGHT fine a driver with believing nascar SHOULD fine that driver.
We never know what nascar may do, and they like it that way. Drama.

There shouldn't have been any penalties for the helmet toss. NASCAR should really be embarassed for people expecting one. It shows that they've PC'ed the sport to death.

Tony got put in jail for throwing a helmet, but that's because them Aussies are way too sensitive.

I don't think the helmet thing warrants a fine but what happens if Stewart does wreck Kenseth this weekend or the next after declaring his intention to do exactly that?

Robby Gordon got fined $25,000 for a 2005 helmet toss. (But NASCAR hates Robby).I don't ever remember any driver having penalties for throwing a helmet. A little show of emotion is a good thing.

The penalties and NASCAR's reaction is never consistent. If Kurt Busch tossed the helmet (not at Jerry Punch) then his body would already be prepared and ready for slicing and consumption.
