As expected, no penalties for Tony Stewart

I don't think the helmet thing warrants a fine but what happens if Stewart does wreck Kenseth this weekend or the next after declaring his intention to do exactly that?

Then deal with appropriately at that time, lots of drivers promise payback. Until it happens it is just words or smack talk

Not sure what your reply is because I don't "twit".
"...Robby got out of his car, walked out in front of other cars and threw his helmet at Waltrip's car.
NASCAR fined Robby Gordon $25,000, 25 driver points and 25 car owner points for this childish temper tantrum..."

Robbie also called Michael Waltrip a piece of **** or something like that to whoever was working the pits for the TV network covering the race (I am not trying to be over the top, just stating the case) . One may disagree with Nascar but I don't see the inconsistency they also penalized Jr a year before or after for using similar language during a winners interview in victory lane (if my memory is correct Jr was in the chase, and fined when the effects or stakes were high)

Now that WAS a good shot, Morris 's head is a lot smaller than Kenseths Ford.:)

Some stories had Tony throwing it, some had him swinging it like a weapon when Morris got fed up with his mouth and stepped into him. Cowardly, no matter how it went down. Wannabe tough guy figured out Matt is more his speed.

I see you're from Australia. You probably know more about it than we do. I have a feeling money changed hands.

Money may have changed hands,I'm not sure, but the sensible thing for Morris to do would be to invite him back, what a crowd drawer,eg; next weeks cup race at Atlanta.
Also ,I don't beleive Tony meant to injure him like he did, just temper again. Can be dangerous in motorsport.

I don't think Tony meant to injure him either. It's just that a genuine tough guy would have jumped in with both fists instead of using a weapon. If you're going to get in someones face about track conditions like a tough guy, be prepared for a reaction and man up instead of punking out.

Rumour has it over here that Morris is fairly handy with his fists also so Tony may have had to back up a bit.
Do you think Kenseth & Tony will make anything of all this during the chase.Chase is to important one would hope.

Matt will race Tony hard, and I think that's what Tony will do......unless he loses control during a race. Tony enjoys deciding how other drivers should race him, and sometimes over reacts when they don't. Refusing to speak to Matt after some earlier incidents was a bad decision, and probably forced Matts hand into drawing a line. Tony held Matt high by hanging on his left quarter panel going into the turn where he passed Matt, then he slid up in front of him. Matt could have rammed Tony, like Carl did to Hamlin for the same move, but Matt crossed over and held Tony high on entry into the next turn. Tony wouldn't accept that because he felt he was faster, so he drove into Matts side twice and wrecked them both.

Tony is very god at setting rules for others, but has a problem following them himself. "I don't care what they do out there, as long as it doesn't get me wrecked". Then comes Sonoma, where he felt Vickers was blocking him, so he intentionally runs Vickers into 3 other cars. Hmmmm..... What happened to that rule? It was lap 56, so what happened to Tony's mantra that "It was too early to race that hard"?

Yes, you're correct, he has a very short memory.
Hey , thanks for replying to my posts, Cheers.

You know this was the first that I knew about this incident. A quick google and a read of 5 different reports and answers much. I thing that you guys got much more info that what traveled around here. That or mabey it was just limited to the speedway crowd here.

Anyway, cheers mate.

Too much. Tony's helmet through make The Sun.

AMERICAN racing hero Tony Stewart has never been known as a calm and collected kind of guy.

And he lost his rag after an on-track clash with NASCAR rival Matt Kenseth.

The pair were battling for the lead at Bristol’s “fish bowl” one-mile oval in Tennessee when they tangled.

Both spun. But while Kenseth was able to carry on, reigning NASCAR champ Stewart, known as “Smoke,” was out on the spot.

The Chevy ace quickly showed his anger by waiting by the pit exit for Kenseth to come by – and hurling his crash helmet at his rival’s Ford.

It bounced high off Kenseth’s front bumper. And as a US commentator observed dryly: “That was a great shot.”

The pair have history following previous clashes at Sears Point and Indianapolis.
And fuming Stewart said he would get tough with Kenseth “with every chance I have until the end of the year”.

Kenseth insists he has tried to clear the air with Stewart, but has been snubbed.
Offering another olive branch after the Bristol bust-up, he said: “I don’t really have anything bad to say about Tony.”

Link to The Sun story.

I thought about making a new thread as I was confused as in which one this should be posted. Apologies to all the other Tony Steward thread authors.

There are so many helmet threads already, you could have thrown spitballs at your screen and come up with the right answer. ;)

No coz that would have certainly cost him points and suspension..........can't be a genuine tough guy anymore so would everyone please keep pretending like you can.

Errr....this all happened in Australia, and smashing a guys face with a helmet didn't cost Tony a single point or get him suspended. He picked a fight because the trach was a mess after heavy rains, then wussed out and used a weapon. Man up, Tony. If you want to play tough guy, just man up for once.

Yeah we have so many threads about Tony I have a hard time keeping track.

I bet when Tony got on the plane from Australia , them stewartasses on the plane were instructed whatever you do don't let him run out Coca-Colas or Cheeseburgers. The man don't take no crappy dirt surfaces, or missing a meal without a fight.

Hey ozz, I'm on the Gold Coast and we get bugger all aside from a little V8 Supercar.... the rest is all footy codes and surfing. On the other hand this happened early 2011........ yea thats it.... thats when my little girl was born so..... I kinda had other things taking a priority.

I heard earlier that NASCAR has confiscated the alleged "Weapon" (Smokes Helmet) and there's talk of auctioning off for charity, anyone else hear this?

That's a fair enough reason for not hearing the news Leroy, well done.

Congrats on the birth of your daughter, leroy17.

I put the bold sentence into Google translate, but it just shows an image of a can of vegetable juice. ;)
