Ashton Lewis no serious injury

Not a lot of talk about Ashton's encounter with the wall Friday night, but fire always makes me cringe. Fortunately he remained concious and fled the flaming wreckage in near record time (around 9 seconds).

Ashton Lewis, Jr., driver of the No. 46 Civil
Air Patrol Chevrolet, suffered only minor burns to the fingertips on his
left hand, after being involved in a serious crash in which his car caught
fire during the Funai 250 at Richmond International Raceway.

I too was afraid of what the fire did...the inside of Ashton's car looked to be engulfed. Thank goodness he only had minor injuries, and glad he had on a full-face helmet.

With all of nascars safety precautions, the serious injuries will be cut down, nearly to none.
