Atlanta Xfinity RACE thread

You could make the argument that with just one lower series, you might see more small teams being able to compete. Right now, we have a ton of lowly funded teams choosing to run either Xfinity or Trucks.

I mean, the Cup guys would still beat them but there would be MORE regulars in each race.

Congratulations to Rick Hendrick for his first win of the year. Must have chafe his ass last week when Reid won.

Not hard to get a win in Xfinity when you have the cup champion driving and the cup 24 team pitting your car.

:sarcasm:

The second race should have been a road course in Canada with studded tires. You can believe the stands would have been full.

LOL 3 pages of discussion. Yeah these races blow. This series blow.

Atlanta's attendance in the winter (spring) races sucked before. It will suck again. This was a terrible date.
Nationwide race...Spring...Atlanta...
2005...60,000
2006...75,000
2007...47,000
2008...25,000...lol...That's when NASCRAP decided to ditch the spring (Nationwide) races @ Atlanta...Until todays race that had MAYBE 12-15,000

While I would like to see only Xfinity drivers (those racing for the championship), and Truck series drivers be the ones actually racing in the series......and not the
Cameo appearances of Cup drivers.......as I understand it, they have the Cup drivers there to try and promote the series and draw more fans right? Apparently, it isn't working though.......or, maybe, that is the only reason they have the fans they do? Scheduling of races could also play a role in the empty seats......Track, time of year, etc.

All these genius rules changes on the Cup cars that don't change ****t...how about we figure out a decent rules package for the Xfinity Series. This series is the one that needs an overhaul. This "racing" is dreadful.

Mile and a half tracks are dreadful.............. just my opinion

And no Kyle Busch to make a race out of it

Atlanta Motor Speedway needs to be "reconfigured" into a half-mile short track.

Atlanta used to be a nice track that could support 2 cup races before it became a quad oval. Of course you will never get an argument from me regarding half mile and 5/8th mile tracks

Missed this one, on the road at a trade show, but, sounds like it was not a good show at all by the comments here. But a race is a race, they all had the time to set up and come prepared.

Luck favors the well prepared.
