Austin Dillion NXS Retaliation

Austin is a Cup driver racing in a developmental series and retaliated against a NXS rookie who made a rookie mistake. Is this an incident that should warrant a severe penalty from NASCAR?

 
I think it would be acceptable to ban him from the next 8 - 10 Xfinity races. No reason for a cup driver to be in a lower series deliberately wrecking people. I know it sucks for Austin that he can't win in the Cup series but doesn't mean he can go down to the minor leagues and act like that.
 
The sport has evolved and Cup drivers should not be racing in Xfinity with very few exceptions. But once those Cup drivers are entered into an Xfinity race, they should go all out to compete.

However, if there is an issue like this of Dillon taking a cheap shot at Custer, then the Penalty should be heightened and Dillon should be denied entry as a Driver to any further Xfinity races for the rest of the 2017 season.
 
I guess since Dillon drives a Cup car with a 3 on it, he figures he could do some intimidating.
 
no penalty, no probation, no nothing..it was a "racing incident" and things like that just happen, just like last week---- 18 vs. 22

The first was a racing incident. The 2 walling Custer wasn't. That was intentional, albeit not as dangerous and criminal as the 20 did to the 22 in Cup a couple years ago.
 
Meh didn't look to bad as a retaliation. ..if that's it than let it be. If he were to do something again more severe than that I would say penalties may be necessary.

How was it a bad payback? He didn't miss. Anyway, i believe he should be suspended for one Cup race just like Kyle Busch was suspended for purposely wrecking Ron Hornaday during a truck race a few years ago. He has no business racing tn the minor leagues so he should show those drivers respect because they are racing for a championship.
 
If I do say so myself, I think if this was a series regular issue, then let it be as 2Sweet said.

Since this deals with a cupper coming down into a developmental series and deliberately reacting, I would pull him from half of his scheduled NXS races this season.
 
Absolutely.

It's already bad enough a supposed elite driver goes down the latter and literally take away someone's food out of their mouths, he also needs to kick them while they're at it?

Ban him from the lower series for life as long as he is racing in the top class of racing.
 
I am probably in the minority but under no circumstances should drivers be allowed to do what Dillon did without punishment. I would guess Dillon will be put on double secret probation and fined a pittance and all will be right with the world. Pity.
 
I have given privileged silver spoon crap too, but this snt on scale with what Kenseth did to Logano, or what Kyle Busch did to Hornaday. Those were intentional at speed.

Ban him from Xfinity for several races, it woud make a point if needed. Cant see the justification for anything else.

Didn't Kyle wreck Ron under caution?

Austin didn't miss, but he didn't do much damage either. If you're going to get your knuckles whacked, it ought to be for something more impressive than that.
 
It seemed to me Austin was mostly trying to make Custer lose a bunch of spots.. Still not cool in any way but it wasnt quite on the same scale as Busch and Hornaday

Two of Kelley Miller’s ride-buyers have over five hundred cup starts between ‘em. Then there’s the casino guy. The one that’s some sort of champion on dirt with stats scarcely better than Patrick’s in cup with almost a hundred more starts. A hockey player...................

Those kind of developmental drivers. It's snicker worthy.

IMO it all depends on what, if anything, Nascar wants to do about drivers meting out punishment to those they feel need it. If they don't really mind they can do their worthless probation thing and if they do care they can park Aussie for a race or 2 and that should end the problem.

Pop Pop bankrolls Prince Austin...... Prince Austin has not a worry about money.....


Custer isn't in that position...


Austin needs to take that Cowboy hat out west and try to make a living with it.. a real Cowboy would have him crying for Pop Pop to come and get him in the first 24 hours...

Kyle Busch got parked for the cup race the weekend he spun Coy Gibbs in the truck race. What Austin did was no where near as bad, it was pushing the envelope and shouldn't be condoned.
 
Custer stock went up......A. Dillons went down. Another reason to add to the "anti - Buschwacker " movement.

Kyle didn't see him ......... Ron had blown fuse in tailights

ABSOLUTELY, Austin should be banned from any more Exfinity races.JHMO, (but I don't like the little **** anyway, so I may be a tad biased), But Poppop will come to his rescue.
