BAM you're it!

Just a few days ago the word was that Shawna would be in the 49 car at Darlington. That is the same word that was out just a few days before the Michigan race as well.

Cope brought some sponsor money with him and got the ride at Michigan and kept if for Bristol. Results were two wrecked race cars, something the team is getting used to I guess. Despite the hype you may have read about Michigan, the car was not competitive, it got near the leaders with a pit move and was fading fast. A team PR release dared speak of a top 10 finish, yeah right.

If Cope still has money to bring, he'll likely get the ride at Darlington if he wants it. Haven't seen him do anything to earn it on the track, but money talks and....

ii thoguth so to. Maybe if Wally does get out of the booth NBC/TNT should give her a call to be up there. IMO

Shawna should not be at a track like Darlington. Heck Cope was doing pretty good in that car I thought, and I doubt that he will get a darlington stripe. Darlington just doesnt appeal to me for a driver like shawna, no offense.

I gotta agree with Bill here (I do that too much!!) But I don't think you just throw Shawna out on Darlington, we all know that track bites back!

Shawna ran there this spring and stayed out of the walls. Fell out early in the race with mechanical woes.

The last two times Derrike tried to run there he DNQ'd, the two times before that had a 27th finish 6 laps down and a DNF.

She is listed as the driver on the entry list, along with Raines, Shepard, Musgrave, and Long. The 71 is listed with driver tba.

Just my old and very humble opinion but ANY driver that can find their way to the seat of a car capable of making a qualifying run in a Winston Cup race deserves to be there.

Ya, but just because you can qualify for a race doesn't mean you should really be there.

Going with 71Fan on this one,

What does mean you should be there if qualifying doesn't?

Well, Anyone can have a good lap, but It doesnt really matter if you cant keep it up for the entire race. Yes qualifying gets you in the show but its nearly worthless if you can keep up.

Ya, but the true racers don't race for the cash. If you know you aren't going to perform well, don't go and embarress yourself.

With what Last place pays, A team might not even be able to break even. And If a motor was blown, and the car was damaged then its a whole different story...

But doesn't a "true racer" BELIEVE he/she will win? A true racer will try to qualify and if he/she does will run with no thought of embarrassing himself.....they will race to WIN!! Sorry, have to go with 71 on this one.:)

when are ya not "keeping up", when you're one lap down, or two or three or when?

Since the subject is the BAM car, where did Derrike finish with it?? was he making a lot of passes?

What about Ron, how did he do?

Well the fact is...No one in the BAM car has done well. Not shawna, not ron, not Derrike. That team just isnt clicking...

Not much better HS........but BAM is the problem I think. Who ever heard of BAM before this year? Did they run Busch, ARCA, anthing before Winston Cup? Sounds to me like someone with a pocket full of cash thought they could storm NASCAR with the woman angle (politically correct BS). To be successful in such a competitive sport you need a little more than a few bucks and a passing interest. I don't see BAM as a team in Winston Cup next year.....maybe Busch but more likely ARCA (if in any racing at all).

I agree with Awesome Bill on this one. None of the drivers seem to be doing too well and that team just seems not to have it.

Now, about Shawna in the booth--I'll make a lot of enemies here by the sounds, but I didn't like her there. Don't know what it was but she just didn't get my attention. Don't have a thing against her either. JMO

Looking at my paycheck, 43rd pays awfully good though.

considering the 50/50 split as the drivers share, 43rd ain't too shabby. The thing I am reminded of most is that at the end of the game, the king and the pawn return to the same box.

True,

But one goes into a nice cushy padded slot and the other gets tossed into a hard general storage space.:)

Saw over at Jayski where he hears the team is gonna pass on Darlington completely.

My guess is the money is close to gone and Derrike had no sponsor to bring.

This team seems to be in total disarray.

If I had to rob my Pennyjar to run a couple of races that are left this year,I would run a track that is a little more forgiving,It would not be Darlinton, where odds are in favor of tearing up equipment. As far a Shawna goes,Darlinton does not have a favorite car to tear up,be it a female,or male. The lessor talent will have an extra degree of trouble no matter what gender when it comes to Darlingtons curse she can deliver. ;)
