Bashas' Supermarkets 200

Um...he's 25 years old. His career is far from over. He has plenty of time. At 25, he's four races away from beating Mark Martin's all-time win record in the Nationwide/Busch Series.

Fair enough, but don't forget at 25, he has nearly the same number of Nationwide starts as Mark. He's done a lot for a young guy, but no matter his age, I think you can see where one might start to wonder how somebody who has had a secure seat in a top Cup team for six seasons still gets a kick out of dominating the lower ranks.

Kyle will continue to break records and is arguably the best driver to ever sit in a stock car

When all is said and done, whether it be 15 or however many years from now, he might have some of the most impressive stats we've ever seen, but I'll have to disagree with your rather bold statement. The point I'm making is that all the time he spends tearing up competition below his abilities is going to take some shine off his final numbers. We'll see how he approaches it in the coming years though. I'm in no place to act like I know what he ought to be doing.

I don't get this attitude. Kyle Bush simply loves to race. It's not about dominating the lower ranks. This guys spent almost ALL his money last year getting his own Racing Team set up.

When there is a race, any race, that he can make, he goes. Why do we have to tear down a guy who loves what he does and is good at it?

Because when he runs Nationwide its in top of the line JGR stuff.

Ah, but here is a different issue. Nothing wrong with using your own money, resources, and personnel and strutting your stuff. I'm more impressed with his success in the trucks because it's his own team, although even then, I still wonder how much of that team is Joe Gibbs with a different brand name. I'm just less than enthralled by a guy winning Nationwide races with the same stuff he's already won 20 Cup races with.

I didn't set out to "tear him down." If he wants to keep doing it, fine. I just wonder how long he can find satisfaction in beating lower level competition. That, and it's still detrimental to the identity of the Nationwide and Truck series, but I guess there isn't a whole lot you can do.

While that is true, you have to remember Kyle has run full seasons in Nationwide, Mark only ran 1 full season there. So of course Kyle would get the same number starts at a younger age than Mark did. :)

But this is exactly my point. He does it so often, is it really any wonder he's achieved what he has in such a short time? Speaking only for myself, no, it isn't.

No it's not, I agree with that. But it still shouldn't take away from what he has achieved just because he done it at such a young age.

When he set that racing team up it was supposed to be for some up and comers to get some seat time but instead he uses it to prop up his ego some more.

He doesn't like to race, he likes to win.

Do you really think he would spend this much time running Nationwide and Trucks if it wasn't a foregone conclusion that he would win?

One of his sponsors backed out at the last minute. He put up a lot of his own money to keep the team going.

It really does suck when the sponsors only want the cup guys.

What does that have to do with this? Is Kyle's the only "top of the line" equipment out there? How many interviews did you hear today where Carl was bragging about his fast Ford Mustang? Do you think Harvick is running in less than what he expects to be top notch?

I'm saying thats the difference compared to his trucks.

So losing 1 sponsor makes you shut down 1 truck, get rid of the 2 youngsters you hired to help get into racing. If he wanted to help those two like he originally said they could have split the 1 truck.

Yeah but if its between having no sponsor for 2 drivers to split a truck and having a sponsor to help keep you going and you gotta drive the truck it just makes business sense to keep running it. You forget KBR is more than just trucks. He has a younger guy running his super late model around the east coast and south east that is tearing up the competition and making a name for himself. So he is still helping up and comers but if your not in the right short track circles and only watch NASCAR on the weekends you wont hear of them just yet. I believe he just had another kid start in a second late model team as well.

Who's driving his Late Model, I'll have to check this out.

Congrats to Kyle on ANOTHER great win...And to think that people, right here on this board last season, said Kyle didn't have a hold on the new car...

I wonder if Kyle has asked Jimmie for some advice on what type of shelf to build for the cup trophys...oh, sorry, he doesn't have one :p

congrats to kyle. :) i can't believe i watched this entire race. biggest excitement was wondering if anyone but kyle could lead just one lap. c'mon carl, tag him next time. ;) boring....
