At least the latest news I could find so far.

Best wishes to Elder for a speedy recovery.

JOLIET, Ill. - NASCAR Busch Series driver Christian Elder, 34, crashed hard into the Turn 4 wall during qualifying and was excavated from his car through the roof, which was cut off by the safety crew in a lengthy process.

Elder, who has crashed out of five races this season, suffered a concussion in the crash and fractured his right clavicle. He was airlifted to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, Ill. for a CAT scan and further x-rays of the head and neck. He is currently listed in stable condition and “resting comfortable.” He will stay at the hospital overnight.

The Minneapolis, Minn. Native has competed in eight race this season and sits 46th in the points. He finished 39th in points last season with no higher finish than 20th.

Less than a half hour later Dan Pardus lost control of his No. 32 Outdoor Channel Chevrolet and sent it into the wall in qualifying. He hit the back end of his car first into the wall, then spun around and slapped the side.

His car then burst into flames and the 39-year-old driver struggled to get out his car as the fire engulfed the body of his car. He was finally able to climb out of his car and hobbled off to the infield grass on his own. He was later released from the infield care center.

Good luck to both the guys.I have actually developed a fondness for Elder.Hope he gets it together.Seems like hard luck has hit him a lot.
