Big changes to 2021 Speedweeks

2020 Cars for the Daytona Speedweek Clash. (paraphrased)
-Nate Ryan

If true, it makes it even less relevant...

Relevant to what? I recall the Clash has traditionally used the cars from the previous season.

Relevant to the new season and the roll out of this fantastic 2021 brand spanking new Thoroughbred.

What -- no clean break? Just cobbling together a neo-relic for a course they don't run?

Like I said, I'm so desperate for NASCAR racing by February, you bet your butt I'll be watching it. But, I wish NASCAR would leave the past behind and fully embrace the new machine immediately after their crappy Awards Banquet.

In this particular case, I don't mind much. I've never liked the 'invitation-only test session' aspect of this race. Running the old car on a non-points circuit definitely removes that from it. The Daytona layout is such an odd duck that even if they ran the new car, I don't know how much of what they'd learn would transfer to the other road courses.
