Do I detect some Yankee snobbery? Making fun of our God-given, kid tested mother approved Appalachian accent?

Funny, ain't it? That slays me. But at least he comes by it honest, without cheating. JEFF Burton, on the other hand...now he's faking it. :D

Can't nobody accuse ward of cheatin'. He don't finish high enough to be cheatin'. Maybe he should start.

Kaitlyn, go in the house and get my 1 wood...the one wearing a "Ward Burton" shirt seems to be getting aggressive.

:lol2: :pbjtime:

It's an uprising! A full-fledged donnybrook! Borderline melee! The natives are restless!

Kaitlyn?

I couldn't think of any other stereotypical Yankee names for females. :cuckoo: :cuckoo: :cuckoo:

Muffy!

And come to think of it, I don't even own a Ward shirt...yet.

t-rex was completely legal, and Ray even invited Gary Nelson down a week befor the race to make sure, basically the reason nascar made it illegal was, Gordon would dominate with that chassis, and other teams would have to develope the same type of thing putting a strain on their budgets to be competitive (that came from cheating: an inside look... not word for word tho). and as for the biggest cheating team, who knows, alot of the stuff teams used to do wasnt cheating, they found an advantage in the grey area, then nascar made it illegal.

Only if you get caught breaking the rules set forth at that particular time would you be considered a cheater. No infraction = No cheating. Do or have I ever suspected it? You betcha! :p

If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin' hard enough. Now NASCAR conspiring with a certain team is just wrong.

The diffrence between dei and alot of these other teams is, they only seem to dominate the rp tracks. There maybe 1 or 2 during the year besides them, but mostly is tona and dega.

If they are cheating they must only be in it for the money, cause your not going to win a championship like that.

Well, that's where Earnhardt Sr won the most so they gotta continue the legacy.

"Richard Petty once held the record for fines, along with all the others he broke. King Richard got nicked $38,000 back in 1983 after winning at Charlotte when a post-race check showed he had an oversized engine in his car. Here, too, you have a pretty crude and obvious cheat, and even though he was Richard Petty he lost 104 championship points."

Been pondering on the list of teams in this poll.

Of those four teams only two of them have a history in which I recall no proven, admitted, or what I would consider generally accepted history of being legal. Those two are the Elliott brothers team and the DEI team.

DEI I would discount because they simply have not been around long enough. But still I recall nothing of substance to substantiate cheating at this point. That could change at any time.

The Elliott's though are a different story. They had something no doubt about that. Stories and opinions vary greatly on what that something was, some would and do claim that it was illegal, but I have not to my memory ever found anything even remotely substantiated. And I do know that NASCAR worked very very hard to find something, anything back in the 80's.

Junior Johnson in the 80's was the most cheatingest team i would think.

And in failing to do so, they took the low road, to wit: If we can't speed up to catch them, we'll slow everybody down with a restrictor plate.

The restrictor certainly put an effective end to the Elliott's dominance at Daytona and Talledega.

The Elliott's have long said privately if not publically that one of the factors which severely hampered their team in the latter stages of 1985 was the time involved in simply reassembling the cars following NASCAR's post race inspections of the Coors Thunderbird.

Junior Johnson is certainly legendary, and arguably brought the most illegal car to ever run a NASCAR event to Atlanta back in the 60's.

Of course if legends are to be considered, no one ever has enjoyed (or suffered) the infamy of Smokey Yunick. He is the other man who arguably ran the most illegal car in NASCAR history. And the stories of the cars and tricks he was not allowed to run should top anyones chart.
