I know alot of people like to hear about what the biggest fastest or just the plain out best of anything is, if you know one post it up.

Lets start out with the worlds fastest car, what is it?
 
I would say a f1 mclaren, Ferrari Enzo, or the corvette sledgehammer.
 
OK........just did an unsuccessful search. But from my limited memory. The fastest "stock" car lap was run by Bill Elliott in a Ford at Talladega in the early to mid 80's (shortly before restrictor plates).........212.something mph!! I figure with an average speed for a lap like that, he was easily doing way into the 220's on the front stretch. Don't you know that was scary watching turn one come up in the window shield!! Wonder if he pee'd his pants............I would have!! :eek:
 
Tony Stewart pulled 223.703 in an IRL car. Pretty sure that's the fastest anyone has ever gone in The Big Four racing circuits.
 
Are we limiting this to reciprocating engines?:) Somehow rocket and jet power just doesn't fit for me!!:D
 
Not me..........been in a car doing close to 110 once!! Fast enough for me on a highway!! Personally, while driving, maybe 90!!:)

Uh oh..........fergy's on!! Hey fergy that 90 mph was a long time ago!! Besides it was not in Virginia!! What's the statuate of limitations on speeding anyway!!:(

Pretty much! :D Actually we went 130-140 once in his car. It was pretty stupid (but fun) because (1) no seatbelts (2) first day driving a 550 hp car (3) unexperienced driver showing off for some chicks.

If I didn't see it, I can't do nuthin' about it!! :D

My brother clocked me at 163 mph in my Z28 a few years ago. It was on an interstate that was being built back home in Alabama. He's a police officer down there and got me on RADAR. Man, that was some ride.......Scared the hell outta me, but it was fun.
 
Fastest jet............USA SR-71 I believe

Fastest tank is probably USSR (or whatever since the break up of that country).......but that is just a guess.:)
 
The ones the Marines had in Saudi were pretty quick...I can't remember their designators though..maybe T-60's?

Only when it lands mustang.........and I'm not sure if is going as fast as the SR-71 when it enters the atmosphere!!

The fastest combat jet is the Soviet Mikoyan MiG-25 fighter (NATO code name Foxbat). The reconnaissance Foxbat-B has been tracked by radar at about Mach 3.2 or 3,395 km/h (2,110 mph). The MiG-25 was designed as a high-altitude interceptor, and over 1,200 have been built. The single-seat Foxbat-A has a wingspan of 13.95 m (45 ft 9 in), is 23.82 m (78 ft 2 in) long and has an estimated maximum take-off weight of 37.4 tonnes (82,500 lb).
