BMW and Williams continue marriage

Thats right, this weekend at the Nurburgring, BMW and Williams signed a new contract that will extend their partnership in F1 until 2009. Seems kinda odd since F1's contract is up in 2006 and if the sport doesnt gain some major popularity and reduce cost, their won't be an F1 series in 2009.
 
They'll just continue in the new series the manufaturers are saying might happen? Could this be a sign? Might mean F1 will continue or that BMW wants to stick around into the new series, which is it I have no idea! Either way they make a good team it's only right they stick together.
 
But my point was there may not be a new series or F1. Then what?

Then what you ask? then we each get a loan from the bank for a couple hundred million and start our own series.
