Bonehead of the week: Daytona II

Sure, a big difference, as I've posted several times in this thread. But that post was responding to SlicedBreadFanboy who was saying Kurt wrecked himself, and I do not agree with that.
The driver takes responsibility for the incident ... one would think that trumps the educated opinions of his fans.

If Jimmie would have lifted after the initial contact with Jaimie, he would have probably caught his car and not involved half the field. Seems like Jimmie has caused quite a few Big Ones on plate tracks. BTW I have nothing for or against Jimmie

I think a lot of you have a dislike for Joey and everything is automatically his fault.
Joey was behind Kurt, show me just what he did wrong. Show me don't just print more of your
dislike for the guy.
I tried....... but.......... when you have Ray Charles eyes......... it's impossible......

Kurt said himself he moved UP OFF the bottom hoping Joey would go with him then wanted his place back at the bottom.

TWO things wrong with that, WHY would Joey help Kurt win over his team mate??
Why would Kurt think that Joey was going to leave the opening for him if he changed his mind?
Two pretty stupid assumptions on Kurt's Part.
So all you people that think Joey should have just backed off and left the opening for Kurt say you like racing? I doubt you have an understanding of what racing is.

Last year everyone thought JLo was an a$$h*** for not running over and kissing Kenseth's butt. This year he takes the blame and gets accused of wrecking Kurt on purpose.

No wonder so many people are leaving Nascar and the forums are getting empty.

I've never seen Joey Logano cross the line between "aggressive" and "dirty." He is often what I'd call over-aggressive, particularly in the early portion of races. In the late laps, his aggressiveness is generally appropriate IMO. But I've never seen dirty. What examples do you have in mind when you say he is a dirty driver?

Saturday night, I felt that Joey was over-aggressive on quite a few occasions.

Being over-aggressive is crossing that line.

And Joey's now developed a reputation for this stuff.

I guess my T.V. was showing a different thing than yours...... I don't have the ''Joey is Jesus'' Elite coverage........ just the Basic plan.......
Jokes on you.. there is no Jesus :D

Did you not see Joey take responsibility for accidently spinning Kurt, and express his regret that he caused that?
Saying he hates what happened to Kurt is not necessarily taking the blame for it.. **** happens .. the fact remains Joey tried to make a pass and got blocked and didn't lift.. a move any aggressive driver would make and not without good reason.. who the hell lifts coming to the line on the last lap at Daytona?

Being over-aggressive is crossing that line.

Developed a reputation by whom? Those that are to lazy in life that requires real effort?
Or maybe your referring to those older drivers that want to coast the rest of their career and expect ALL knew drivers to respect what they did in the past?

All knew drivers should........
Why? Because they say so? IMO nowadays regardless of age you need to give respect to get it. Joey tried going that route for years and as soon as he dropped the idea of driving conservatively and respectfully he started winning and finishing up front on a regular basis. Why change what works? The stats are what counts.. no one is going to remember why everyone finished where they did 20 years down the road.

Rubbin is racin, however, running over or through someone on purpose is not racin its called wrecking someone intentionally, no matter who does it, it is not the way to go about things.

Before someone says what about Mat what about Mat, let me say this What he did to Joey was wrong, but, I and a gazillion other race fans were glad he did it.

OK, so maybe I zagerated a tiny bit, but, it's a bunch! :D
There are always a "bunch" who can't think past their own nose. Few bother to study the problem.

Joey got screwed over by his team mates being nice. Now it is his turn. Stupid Hamlin nearly ended his own career trying to humiliate Joey.

Nah, I actually go to the races and make my own mind up. The bunch I refer to was the crowd, who were actually at the race, cheering the result.

Then you are not paying attention. None for Penske, but Brad? Where you been the last 3 years?
Brad Keselowski is proof of the adage that most Nascar fans claim to hate "plain vanilla" personalities, but in fact will tolerate nothing else. The hierarchy goes like this...

1. If you are my favorite driver, anything you say or do is perfect.

2. If you are not my fav, you must be 100% plain vanilla or I will hate you.

Yeah Just like I heard Dale Sr. apologize for wrecking (dumping) Terry Labonte at Bristol.
The difference is that I don't believe Joey / Kurt was deliberate but Dale / Terry was deliberate. If you believe Joey meant to wreck Kurt, then yeah they are pretty much the same.

Joey-is-jesus coverage...our sister network is Matt-is-the-devil

Oh , there was a ton of it on here before Brad won the championship . He quieted down a lot after that and so did the hate in my opinion . Funny how a title will do that .

Agreed . I think we are safely through the Jimmie /Jeff , era and since, 'boys have at it ' , things are getting more interesting . Gonna be a shame to lose Tony , he was good for a new thread every now and then.

Been a lot since he won the title and due to mostly jealousy IMO:

-MK attacking him after an altercation on the track. Something he would not have done had it been someone else
-Hamlin driving around the infield looking for him I think at the same night, something he wouldn't do if it were someone else
-JG and his gang attacking him for doing something JG admitted he would have done to if roles reversed
-Harvick the wuss instigator pushing him to start the physical issue with Gordon and his team
-Chad Knaus takes every opportunity to degrade him, probably because it was BK that beat them for a title out of nowhere
-Hamlin making remarks about his athleticism, or lack of
-Same group plus a few more whining about the All-Star format acting like it was too confusing when in essence if Nascar had officiated it correctly would have probably produced one of the best races in AS history

They are like a bunch of friggin 7th grade girls with their clique and snide remarks every chance they get.

And then you have everyone here who, when they can't come up with anything really credible to negatively say about him, like to make fun of his looks. Very mature....
