Again, another week with no real obvious picks. I'm going to go with the teams that missed qualifying because they couldn't get through tech on Friday.
 
Whoever installed Elliott Sadlers floorboard. It came loose during the race. He was all "what the hell is going on here, my cars falling apart". :D

Can someone explain how and why this happens?
 
Dunno, no obvious choices. The #41's total inability to compete? At least their battery and / or alternator didn't act up again.
 
I was thinking of Johnson's unconventional pit stop but he did avoid messing up Truex - it was kinda the opposite of a bonehead move.
 
Two, and take the under. After the second one, they're not likely to get the car fixed in 5 minutes.

Me, I think he's John Wes Townley in disguise. Notice how one 'retired' when the other entered Cup. Coincidence or conspiracy? You decide.
 
I heard on the radio, that 9 of 20 non stage related cautions this season have been a BK racing car. Maybe BK racing deserves the award.
There's something my Darling Bride says about the pets when they act up, that I think applies well to BK:

"They need a bop on the head!"

Incidentally, in 30+ years, I have yet to see her actually bop any variety of critter on the head, but I'm sure they've all lived in constant fear of it. :rolleyes:
 
Not much to choose from but since the BK crashes are normal (and sometimes I think maybe scheduled), I'll go with Hamlin this time.
 
Ron Devine and Co. for still fielding a team that's never done anything besides wreck and doesn't look poised to anytime soon. Idk htf a team manages to only get worse from their first season in existence onwards.

Cause the first season they had Red Bulls left over stuff that had won a race the previous year. I assume when they had to get their own stuff it went bad.

I had forgotten that, good point. Cassill and Kvapil really were getting some decent results back then.

Not to mention I'm not sure how they are chosen their drivers but I'm guessing they are going with whoever they have to pay the least.

Don't have a strong history of paying the other team employees either. Just a very questionable organization from top to bottom, imo.
 
It's really a shame for Gaulding and LaJoie. They could both be good with more experience. They're just not ready.

NASCAR is using an updated system this year. I saw a clip of it on TV during qualifying. All they do is push the car on it, the computer centers the car somehow, and it uses lasers to precisely take the measurements. Then a little printout comes out and the NASCAR official tells you if the computer passed you or failed you. If you pass, you go to the next station. If you fail, the teams fix the car and then you go through all the inspection stations again.

Once teams figure out how to cheat the computer it should be interesting. In the meantime, it's hard to fool skynet.

Its not that, its the change NASCAR made for this year, that if you fail any of the inspection stations, you now have to go back and start the process all over again, last year, after correcting the issue(s) you were able to go right back to the point that you were at . So that is causing this back log of cars still going through inspection when qualifying is starting.
 
Have to go with Jeff Gordon. He said Truex was a clean driver who would never intentionally cause a wreck. Not from what I've seen in the last year.
