Bowyer apologizes to Newman

So, from what I have read here over the last couple days, I think that I should be very jealous and impressed by everyone. Because clearly no one on this forum has ever done anything dishonest, or made decisions that they later regretted. I feel far inferior now knowing that making a mistake means that the rest of my life should be under ridicule of one action I have taken. Because most of us have been in a top athletes position under pressure and under orders of those teams before.

They did nothing which hasn't been done before. Only the outcome and parties involved have changed.

I hear a lot of anti Toyota and anti Mikey stuff in their arguments . Makes you wonder if a Hendrick driver (like Jeff) does something in the chase( like wreck Bowyer ) whether there would be cheers or boos .

I sure hope none of my grandkids meet up with your children if this is what you are teaching your kids.

Well if you want to bring my children into it I'll tell you where your grandkids can meet them... My son's in Pakistan serving his 4th deployment in the sand pit, 13 years in the United States Army and a Master Sargent. My oldest daughter is in her second year of teaching 1st grade at one of our public schools and my youngest daughter is still attending UF.

At this point, anything done to Bowyer will be justified as deserved payback for what he did. Some will see it one way while others see the opposite. It's just the way it goes but ultimately the outcome of any actions are what they are and our opinions or hurt feellings have no bearing.

I've seen some stuff in done in Nascar by multi-car teams that have benefited teammates and no one batted an eye but it does give an advantage to that entire team. Staying out on the track in a car that isn't running for points and is multiple laps down for the sole purpose of scuffing tires or other drivers is but one example.

Running an expirimental engine that dumps oil on the track and ruins someones race is another.

Very loud strong and long cheers. Bet on it. Even Bowyer said it, what fan base he had is gone.

Honest question, where are all the die hard Clint fans on this forum? And when asked about the spin on the ESPN interview he said, "No lets not look to far into that". How do you feel about his blatant back peddling?

Clint and Ryan are going hunting next week...Clint might want to walk behind Ryan. If he comes back with out injuries then I guess Ryan excepted his apology.

I'm still a Clint fan.
Clint was on my fan list for a while but for the last couple of years he's been on my neutral list and this episode has done nothing to change that. I'm cheering for Ryan Newman and Dale Jr. for the championship.

Dale Jr? There ya go. I could use a fan or two more here on my side of things. I thought I was one of the only ones.

I never have "not liked" Dale Jr., he was a neutral until he seemed to grow up a few years ago then he went to my fan list. As you and a couple of others on here know my fan list is comprised of the drivers that I cheer for when my wife's driver(the 24) is not in contention. I would love to see Jr. or Newman win the championship, whichever one can pull it off, then we'll really have some fun on here.

Now if Bowyer wins this whole thing, we've got something to talk about for years. He may even have a chance to do it unsponsored.

I don't see payback coming. There is no solid proof he spun on purpose. Only opinions.

If team orders is cheating then HMS, RCR and most of the other big boys should have been banned a long time ago.

Can someone explain to me how Bowyer spinning had anything to do with Edwards beating Newman off pitroad? It caused the caution and that's it, Newman still had ample opportunity to win the race; stay out, take 2, or get the job done on a 4 tire stop.

I suspect that if it was a Chevy team like HMS making those "team orders" and Gordon got in, then people would be jumping for joy and saying that's the way it is.

"It's race fixing! They fixed the outcome of the race! It's just like Pete Rose or the 1919 Black Sox!"

Give me a break, this whole outrage is hilarious.
