Bob Pockrass said recently that the entire Bowyer/Gordon deal was too far. I also THINK (don't quote me on this one) Jim Utter. Cannot remember for 100% on Utter.
 
I've been a Jeff Gordon fan since seeing him race on ESPN when he was 13. I was at his first race in Atlanta and followed him as a fan. But I have always tried to be objective where Jeff has been involved. I've seen him express dismay over a racing incident might have been considered deliberate and yet, say nothing when it was obvious it was.

There have been several dustups between Bowyer and Gordon this past year. I can only recall one, that I considered not to be a racing incident and that was at Phoenix.

Fan or not, Jeff was wrong to wreck Bowyer. It was not like him to retaliate with such deliberation but that, nor his four championships, excuse the action.

Bowyer wasn't going to win the championship and he did not deserve the retaliation he received. That was not a racing incident. Jeff Gordon was wrong and he can expect to be a poster boy for the "Golden Rule."
IOWs, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. While I won't be cheering when it comes, it will come. It is inevitable. But Bowyer doing so will not make it right. It is tit for tat. It is racing.
