Bowyer's Cup Career is Over

Maybe Bowyer refused "team orders" LOL sorry...had to go there lol

Yeah, this is bad news for a pretty talented driver...

I was thinking the same thing, GF! ;)

I don't dislike CB in the least! I think that he has a lot of talent and ability.

But he doesn't have John Menard as a Father...

I wish the guy luck @ MWR. He's going to need it. On the bright side, if the guy does get a few wins knocked down over there he sure will be their 'stand out' driver. Heck, Reutimann has the only wins for that organization. I'm guessing that the money can't be too tight if they lured him over there?

Sponsorship will come from Five Hour Energy.
glad he's not going to be the official aaron's spokesperson. those commercials drive me up a wall. good luck clint. :)

No disrespect to Mikey but I don't think that would've been one of my choices, i'd have either taken a pay cut & stayed at RCR or headed over to EGR but that's me & i'm Chevy biased...

The positives:
-Well at least he has a ride for 2012.
-Getting 5 hour energy, hopefully that means Steven Wallace loses his deal and worthless career.
-Not NAPA maybe no chezzie commercials.
-Bowyer has talent maybe his feedback will help MWR.

The Negatives:
-Its MWR and a multiyear deal.
-Future vacancies for Papa's boys at RCR, expensed to a winner like Bowyer, not a first but it still sucks (the Dillon boys seem talented, I just hate to see family connections being the guaranteed factor to promote one).

I wouldn't say his career is over. Someone needs to finish 25th-35th.

I see this as great for the sport and MWR. It's the first big sponsor to enter the Cup series in quite some time. MWR gets a driver with some credentials to help make the organization better.

Clint seemed like a forgotten man at RCR. Most of the talk was Harvick and Burton. If this comes to pass, Clint could make it work. From what I understand, they will be running TRD-Gibbs engines next year.

I still think RPM will make another run at him, but I'm still not convinced obout the long term viability of that organization.

Seems like Bowyer was always getting the short end of the stick with RCR. He had a good partnership with Jack Daniels and Childress decided to move him out of that car for Casey Mears.

Come on guys, you have to give my boy Jr. a little credit this year..... He did make the Chase. That's more than Bowyer could accomplish. ;)

Purely a joke on my part. Jr is a top 10 driver, and that's pretty damn good in this series. Even more impressive with a new CC. I think some very good things are coming for Jr in the next few years. This year is the first time he gets a top CC at Hendrick, and he's making the most of it right out of the gate.

Feel better now? ;)

How ironic is it that next year Clint's boss will be the guy he once called the worst driver in the history of nascar.

Purely a joke on my part.

On my part as well. I know as a Jr. fan that there aren't many of us on this board. Someone's gotta stick up for him. Right now I have bragging rights over all but the fans of the nine drivers that finished in front of mine. I'm going to milk it for all it's worth. :D

No, that was General Mills decision if I remember correctly, for them to go to RCR they wanted Bowyer to be the driver not Mears.

Anyway, this ****ing sucks. I was hoping he would end up at Roush or Gibbs or even Petty but never thought he would go to MWR.

Boyer

To Michael Waltrip Racing with sponsorship coming from 5 Hour Energy. glad he found a ride

That was because Casey had Kellogg's as a primary sponsor the previous season.

Bowyer teamed up with Pee Wee and Denny? That would have been fun to watch!! LOL

Truex is a much better driver than Bowyer.

I think Childress would be better served keeping Bowyer and giving Burton his walking papers. Burton continues to be as consistant as his brother wad was and see how that worked out.

I get the feeling Burton will be at RCR as long as he wants.

while i agree about rcr should have kept bowyer over burton it's based purely on bowyer's upside. burton is just riding out his career with little hope of past success. wa(r)d did very well with what he had with inferior equipment. jeff has always had competitive rides.

It's all about the sponsor. I wonder why RCR couldn't nab 5 hour energy themselves. I have no idea how that stuff works. How does 5 hour sign a deal with MWR without knowing who the driver will be? If they wanted Bowyer, why not go to RCR?

I don't get it. Is MWR that much cheaper than RCR?

MWR I think is more media friendly.Micheal loves being in front of the camera.Who else does more commercials for their sponsors than MWR?

What Sponsor IN THERE RIGHT MIND WANTS TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH CHILDRESS AND HARVICK

Bowyer is better off if he NEVER WINS AGAIN

I am curious to hear what that assumption is based on.....

Hey I remember Truex being an up and coming driver! Two Nationwide Campionships 04 and 05, 19th in Cup points 06, 11th in 07, 15th in 08.... then the wheels started coming off at DEI in 09 and he went to MWR in 10 ................OH I think I see what went wrong.......kinda feel bad for Clint now :(

Truex, 2 NASCAR Nationwide Series Championships. Bowyer, 1. Bowyer, ENTIRE NASCAR career spent in Childress cars. Truex moved to DEI in Cup when the program began falling apart, then moved to even ****tier MWR.

That means he made poor career decisions, it doesn't mean he's a better driver.
