Brad K VS Kurt Busch pit road incident.

Oh please, because Kyle Busch's pompous "I have haters and I dont care" attitude is more than anyone can bear, along with Hamlin's epic doucheness. Denny isn't confident, he's ****y and cant back himself up. Disgusting.

But Kurt showing true zero tolerance for the media that WE ALL know is constantly attempting to create rivalries that arent there and stories that dont exist is wrong? Listen to Kurt speak, he is a GREAT communicator and speaks clearly. He just expects perfection out of his top level professional NASCAR teams, which can be understandable, and doesnt put up with any bullspit.

Denny and Kyle are entertaining. I like the smack talk. It's fun. The media created the "New Kurt". He needs it, but when the direction doesn't feed the "Outlaw", then the reporter is an a**hole. Here's the thing.....I don't have a problem with Kurt giving a reporter what he has coming. I have a problem with "New Kurt" lighting up a reporter when that is the same stuff from "Old Kurt" which cost him his job. Kurt hasn't changed, and IMO, fans need to stop needing him to change, and just appreciate the driving because he can wheel it. My bottom line is be real---It pains me to watch Kurt be something he will never be. I like the Kurt that I am sure he is. Stop the BS.

I understand where you are coming from but Kurt needs to change. Having all that anger is not good for him, it eats away at you. He needs to learn the skills it takes to calm himself, he SEEMS like MAYBE he is on the way to doing this. Having a little bit of spark is ok but he used to just blow up. NOT GOOD! Kurt is articulate, he's a great speaker. IMO he always has been when not angry. He's got a little guy in his life now and needs to set a good example for Houston on how to be a good man. Learning the skills on how to control that anger is a great start.

I respect your loyalty and passion for your driver, but this is kind of what I am talking about. First, I have always seen Kurt's "anger" as passion honestly. I don't have a problem with that--let it blow! Second, I don't think it is fair to expect Kurt to behave in a way that would be good for Patricia's kid in the context of an incredibly competitive and intense sport. He still lowers the boom on the scanner. Is Patricia's kid listening? Kurt is at work. Kurt does not work at a preschool. He is being held to a standard NOBODY except Mr. Rogers could live up to. In a sense, the fan base that craves "New Kurt" is setting him up for an epic fail. I cannot imagine the pressure he has created for himself. Kurt! Just be Kurt!!!!!!!!

I think he was when he called that interviewer a clown.

and my point is, he didn't scream it. He could have but didn't. I love that he stayed calm, cool and collected.
Fair, but I wonder how much patience was left in the tank before the "Outlaw" persona won out.

I don't agree with blaming the media for trying to instigate something between Brad and Kurt.
Everyone here enjoyed seeing the two go at it on the track, and enjoyed the comments from Brad and Kurt during and after the race. So why shouldn't the media touch on the subject when interviewing them?

It was a noteworthy incident during the race, so the media shouldn't say anything about it and pretend it never happened?

It's threads like this that make me wish I never found this board. I could write pages on this topic...but then I'd be forced to defend what I know to be fact, and I know from experience, that ain't any fun!!!

But here's what I will say: Kurt has changed. In real life. He's a different guy than he was a few years ago. A million reasons why, but mostly because that's what humans do with the passing of time. We all change. Especially in our 30s. Especially with a family. Especially after we've seen rock bottom. And ESPECIALLY when you combine them all.

Will he ever snap again? Of course...he did on ESPN. That's about what his "snaps" are going to look like. The big difference for Kurt is that he used to think the media was out to get HIM...Kurt Busch. That's what young, wildly successful people think. It's always about them. So he fought back, because he thought he was defending himself. Now, he truly understands the media is out to get a story. And drama. And it's not about "him" so much, so there's no reason to take any of it personally. That makes a huge difference, guys. It's the difference between "It prevents me from beating the sh*t out of you for asking that question." and "it prevents me from answering that question the way I know you clowns want me to answer it." Kurt Busch a**hole vs Kurt Busch outlaw.

Here's a fun little fact for you all: Kurt and Brad have the same agent/lawyer. Hows about that?

I think Kurt and Brad aren't big on payback, which is why Brad kept it to roughing Kurt up rather than wrecking him. The doors are the best place for that, and I saw him avoid the corners of Kurts car. Even the brake check was tame and didn't hurt Kurts car. I think they'll work it out.

It always seemed to me that Kurt and Kyle had the same problem, they would lose focus and stop giving good info and just drive the wheels off the car because they are so good at.

There is one media hack who was out to get Kurt. Jimmy Spencer made his 15 minute career all about tearing Kurt down, and even resorted to using old video when Kurt started to calm down. I have to admit, I laughed in the beginning, but it went too far. It's good to see them both growing up. It's good for the show to have them up front and battling for wins.

Enlightening as usual ;.thanks Allen.

o_O:dunce::flushed:

I remember people saying Tony Stewart has change many times in the past, only to see the old Tony rear it's ugly head when he got mad.
Kurt was shook when the reporter asked him about the incident in the espn interview, even though it wasn't unreasonable to ask him about it, and that was after he had a great day, so IMO the jury is still out on the new Kurt.

Anyone who sees Kurt and not think he's changed from his old ways must be blind as a bat.

He's got good people sorrounding him now. Starting with the girlfriend.

I'm not blind, but I also don't lap up everything the media creates. Let me stress---I am not trying to take anything away from Kurt. I thought Kurt was fine the way he was. If he wasn't fine with who he had become, and has changed, I am happy for him, but I will not buy in just because the media hype says I should.

I think Kurt has his head much clearer this year and i think he will win some more races before the end of the season. I am really impressed with SHR after Kevin and Kurt has joined the team.

All drivers need to how handle the media

Agreed but the media probably needs to learn how and when to handle the drivers too. They hunt down a pissed off driver and expect him or her to be an angel while they ask their dumb questions. I cant speak for the rest of you but if I am pissed off leaving me alone is the best plan.

Like when that reporter shoved a camera in DPs face after her poor qualifying run...

If they don't have angry people.. then they don't have many stories other than winners and points. They know that better than we do. They are professional after all.

Now every time Kurt and Brad are near each other they can talk about it instead of going to a commercial... it create excitement where there might not really even be anything exciting happening.

They know exactly whats going to happen when they ask "What do you really think about your P32 qualifying run today?" They thrive on drama.

Im all good with a little drama, most of us probably are but when a drivers good name is marred by "bad interviews" it kinda makes me angry, Once the reporters got started on Kurt it was downhill all the way, like a vicious circle

I agree. If it's a bad interview from time to time, that's fine. It's the profanity laced Mother $%#@$% stuff that turns me off. The 3 worst were Kyle and Kurt, then Brad jumped in. If those are the only words you can think of to express your feelings time and again, it's a problem for me. Maybe I'm old and long for the days when someone cursing was a little shocking, and then avoided at all costs.

These drivers make millions. Expecting them to deal with some turd interviews with a little class isn't too much to ask. I thought Kurt scored an A- by listening and then saying 'you clowns can keep that going'.

I was raised in a house where profanity was the norm, to this day I cuss like a sailor unless my grand baby is around. I still think somebody put a shock collar on Kurt, I just dont know who has the remote button :D

There isnt much that the drivers do that bothers me, except for Brad k and Harvick, EVERYTHING they do bothers me

lol Why does that bit of honesty make me suspicious as hell? ;)

Not my style, that ones unique to you
You did mention "suspicion" though, you must be nervous or you just dont believe me :idunno:

It's called....wait, lets use a picture to avoid more consternation...

You forgot Tony lol

My thoughts, this whole Brad and Kurt deal is dumb. Something happened on the track between 2 drivers, Brad gets out of his car and vents and then rubs Kurt when he returns to the track and suddenly it's a rivalry. It was just routine short track racing if you ask me, the media has blown it way out of proportion. Wasn't a big deal.

I think what Kurt has learned, is that he can say the same things he was saying before, as long as he doesn't yell it. You can say a lot of bad things, as long as you say it with a smile and a calm voice. That would seem to be the biggest change he has made. For some people, the way they let the anger go is to yell and scream. For others, it intensifies the anger. He has also learned, when and where, that is, and isn't, acceptable. On the radio to his crew and spotter it's OK. In a post race interview it's not.

I'm not sure getting a visit from an angel is what motivates them.
