Brad Keselowski

The reason Ragan seemed to be out of place is because Kez was in his spot, per race control, and was refusing to move down to where he belonged. That left the 34 way outside in his very own lane.
Yeah I heard that. Race Control issue.

As a side topic, I see dega has a road course including some old runways of they want to, why don't they solve the (road course in chase, wild card dega in chase, and scheduling "no ra ce has to be taken away") by putting a road race at dega in the fall? Plate chess is getting kinda blah for me, I want more racing.

In the heat of the moment, people say things they might later regret. It is with great difficulty I must admit to agreeing with dirtguru about Keslowski in post #5.
Kes will learn when to hold and when to fold. He's not the first NASCAR driver and won't be the last to speak his mind. The day will come when he'll mello. Don't crush his youthful spirit. One day he'll get it. It took Tony five or more years of being anal #1 before he calmed his jets.

Look at it this way, if you had one choice of listening to a post race interview or reading a Twitter account of thoughts, who would you pick? Jimmie Johnson? Jeff Gordon? Carl Edwards? David Reagan? Or someone who shows spirit and fire like Tony does now and then or Kes does frequently.
Maybe once Brad calms down and views the video he'll rethink his comments. If he does, and thinks now he was incorrect, and says so, no harm done.

I like drivers speaking their mind and then letting it go as Newman did and most drivers do. What I do not like is a driver continuing to spew negativity about other drivers and the sport on and on just to try to implant the blame for their shortcomings elsewhere. In other words say what you mean then STFU and drive.

Onje of Brads strengths is that once he says something, "he owns it" never regrets

Honestly I think we need more drivers like Clint Bowyer. :D :beerbang:

Speaking your mind is fine, one's character comes out. In this case we have whiner. So be it. I personally think he needs to mature - Kyle is.

Brad 2013 is whiny, but drivers complaining is a typical thing.

When a clasic great race happens everybody is usually happy.
But in most good races you will have somebody getting p.o.

No big deal, Brads mommy just needs to tell him this will pass, and there will be othe days.

Most infield road courses at ovals are awful and just there for the weekend vintage car club guys.

I think Brad is a very paranoid person. He always thinks he's being cheated or someone is out to get him.

Clint is hilarious. There's a driver who I hope never shuts up.

Had me rolling yesterday during his the rain delay interview., even though I'm a Kyle fan. Bowyers hauler was parked beside the 18 hauler and the 18 team was grilling hot dogs or something. Bowyer says "I offered to trade them a non crashed race car for one of those dogs, but they refused." I lost it.

I think it's very refreshing to hear some of the drivers speak their minds.....remember just a few years ago when that was'nt happening and Everyone Complianed?

Did he say something on Twitter he shouldnt have? I must have missed what he said.

I make sure to watch the press conferences on YouTube whenever he finishes in the Top 3. His interactions with Danica and Joey after Martinsville and Richmond were great.

Speaking one's mind is good provided that your mind is producing rational thought. Brad has failed miserably at that of late.

Newman spoke his mind. Keselowski just sounds like he needs to seek professional help for his paranoia issues.

1.Penske needs to buy him a wife to keep him straight, and can deal out the repercussions as easily as Nascar spanks Hamlin for talking. One with the skill to roll her eyes, and get the "yes my dear" results.
2. Or he needs to buy Brad lots of memberships to some visually enticing web sites.
3. Or an internet trainier to teach him the basic rules: always be anoymous and unaccountable. Before you can be an internet somebody, you need to be an anoymous nobody, only then can you say anything without any personal cost.
Most top notch sportspeople are tutored in the area of public speaking & the media as a part of their contact if for no other reason than to not embarrass sponsors etc.

Great video explanation of how they were to line up for the final restart. Not sure if this had already been posted but here's the link to the video. It starts after the obligatory commercial.

Just saw that as well. Very clear explanation, and very clear that Brad was in the wrong. How many times his spotter tell him "2 goes on the inside" and he just sat there and argued about it.

I watched the video several times and also read Brads letter several times and My Opinion is that it was an apology of course but a lot of it was trying to rationalize and water down his uncalled for rants and accusations. In My Opinion he was trying to correct a bad PR snafu and put a positive PR spin on it but I didn't buy it. I'll wait and see how long it takes for it to happen again and like the last few times I believe it will happen again. If it doesn't then I know that I'll be dished up more than a few plates of crow which I'll gladly eat.

Actually, he's exactly right about nascar setting the field BEFORE the pits open. The fact that they re-ordered things later on is unusual.

I'm just happy he apologized for accusing Ragan instead of using his head and asking his spotter what was happening.

As usual , I had an entirely different take on the event . The restart was pasted together as quickly as possible due to darkness . Teams were told that it was a one shot GWC . Nascar was not going to waive off that green flag for any reason ,no should they have . If Brad wanted to green flag waived off because the field wasn't properly set , that was not going to happen. In other words , wether he was in the right lane was of no consequence. So I really don't see his point.

Well, that doesn't really make sense if nascar went and made a later than usual change to the lineup.

They made changes but the green flag was going to wave no matter who was not properly lined up. It wasn't going to be waived off and the field reset .

'The Split' - Career move for Keselowski?

I was checking out this article on Keselowski's pass of Harvick and Larson for the lead and win of the first Chase race. Do you think that pass with 15 to go will go down in the history of the sport like some others have?

I'm guessing it will should he go on to take the Championship @ Homestead. It sure made the closing laps at Chicago memorable.

If he wins the title, maybe. For now, give me Texas 2012. Yeah, he lost, but he showed he wasn't going to blink facing then Five-Time.

Whoa, we have a Brad thread? How did I not know about this?

Ahh, I see, it was a negative thread. That must be why I never posted in it.

But yeah, if Brad wins the Chumpionship this year, people will look at that pass as something significant. I think it's a wee bit premature to be calling it a career move, though, and this is coming from a Brad fan. Just sounds like more dramatic Chase hype to me.

That was a pretty sweet pass, though. :D

I think having the balls to make such a risky pass during the chase was more impressive than the pass itself. Gutsy move for sure. He cracks the throttle to avoid hitting Larson, then just goes for it as soon as Harvick goes low. Getting close to Harvicks door slowed Kevin down, but if Larson hadn't messed up slightly in that turn, there probably wouldn't have been room for all 3 cars because Harvick never adjusted to 3 wide.

It may have been Brad's car taking air off of Larsons splitter, but he definitely gets off the gas to avoid scraping the wall just as Brad and Kevin are coming up.

I have an idea. Would you mind talking to your friend about condensing things into a [bBrad Bread[/b] thread? If nothing else, it's a decent tongue twister, especially after a few BL's.
I originally read that as "Bad Bread." :XXROFL:

But sure, I'll get right on that as soon as I get done lobbying for a new hotties thread.

If Larson hadnt chose to race the leaders Brad wouldnt have won. Nascar failed to tell Larson that racing was forbidden............ how dare that little snot to trade paint with Harvick and Gordon. Thankfully Jeff explained the rules after the race to Larson

Yeah, apparently Larson didn't get the memo that explained the true meaning of the yellow Chase decals. ;)

I was hoping for an "old hotties" thread  Who wants to look at beautiful young women ?......... other than Greg that is
