Jim Noble says that a announcement is imminent regarding Carl to JGR with M&M's sponsorship. Kyle moves to Monster sponsorship with JGR.

Rumors persist that Carl Edwards’ sponsor at Joe Gibbs Racing will be none other than the M&Ms/Mars brand.

While even the Edwards to JGR piece of the puzzle has yet to be confirmed, the most recent speculation has the current Roush Fenway Racing driver with America’s most popular confection as his livery for 2015.

Over the last few weeks, representatives from Gibbs have been actively recruiting throughout the garage for a fourth team but both Edwards and Gibbs remain mum on the driver's status.

Where would that leave Kyle Busch? Sources say Monster, a long-time supporter of Busch, would step up to the primary sponsorship level. While Mars has backed Busch for the last seven seasons, the company’s tenure with the 29-year-old racer has not always been drama free.

Still, it’s hard to fathom an athlete as health-conscious as Edwards could embrace a brand with so little nutritional value. When Motorsport.com asked the driver two weeks ago about representing a company that he would not personally support off the track, the response was similar to Edwards’ previous "no comment"
 
They probably just wanted Carl so he could eat M&M's while doing a backflip.
 
The side story here IMO is that Kyle is now carrying his own sponsorship. He could be shopping next year for 2016 IMO.
 
If this is true I better hurry and sell all of my high end Carl Edwards collectibles before they're worthless like what happened with all of the other drivers that went to toyo. Within a month of a driver going to toyo a one of a kind card worth $300 drops to $20. This is fact not speculation and easy to prove with research.

As I have mentioned to you before, it would be my hope that your facts are evidence of manufacturer loyalty more than stupid Toyota hate. Maybe I am just optimistic. I respect manufacturer loyalty. I understand Toyota hate. I don't care enough about the other manufacturers to hate them, but I do respect them. The hate is a waste of time. Fans should find someone to root for instead of hate. Excited to get Carl. Sorry about your card. Join me in hoping that he wins a Championship so that you can recover your losses.

I have a theory on what is going on at Roush with regards to drivers, but I think I'll wait until this is official first.

It hasn't recovered one point since toyota has been in the sport and I don't think it ever will, championships or not. Also It's not one card It's many high end cards from all of the toyota drivers past and present with one exception. Tony Stewarts has recovered since he dumped toyota. I'm not a toyota hater and I don't care why the prices and the respect for the toyota drivers has dropped in the toilet but understandably I am a little miffed at the result of them coming into the sport. I am however glad to hear that kybu may be losing his connection to kids via the mars sponsorship because I think he stinks as a role model. Again, I don't hate kybu, toyota or anything but I have my opinions.
 
That motorsport.com article did make a good point. Edwards is this super ripped health conscious guy and he's going to promote a candy company? Hmmmmm.

Will Edwards say that M&Ms are a "sometimes snack"?

Very interesting news, but I agree with Revman in that the Kyle Busch angle could become the bigger story. It's a great move for JGR IMO. Does this mean Denny will be the 4th guy on the JGR totem pole? If so, that would also be nice to see haha.
 
Edwards has this squeaky clean image and to have him drive for a team whose sponsor he does not partake in seems strange.

Thats like being catholic and driving the trojan car

You are not a hater--and I believe that, but why are you miffed that Toyota came into the sport?--just because of your collectables? Any insinuation that Kyle Busch is not good for kids for any reason is complete bull****. Sorry. His Foundation does amazing work for underprivileged children, and Kyle himself has a passion for helping kids. For God's sake, Gordon is feeding hungry kids in Africa, and he puts Clint into the wall. Kyle Effect.

Carl probably doesn't very often. I've learned about nutrition a lot since I was diagnosed with T1 diabetes a month ago or 6 weeks ago. Even if you want carbs for energy for exercising, candy is a crap one because your body has to eat through a lot of needless fat and cholesterol.

It's not like a major controversy but I think it is a very minor discussion point. Carl Edwards is basically Jenson Button from the Mobil 1 commercials and the rumor mill says he's going to be schilling for something slightly more healthy for you than soda cookies.

Hes been in so many health commercials with subway it seems wrong...Not saying you can be healthy and eat candy but its the promotion part that seems to be off for me, imho
