Brickyard 400: Rate the Race

That ain't it, because a Toyota won the NW race on Saturday and I thought that one was a dog too.
I thought that was the best race of the weekend..again. N'wide has one upped Cup quite a bit this year. I loved the last restart, they just mugged Kyle, passed him on both sides at the same time, but he came back and won it. I hope you know I am just giving ya a hard time backing those "foreign cars". There all a bunch of overpaid crooks IMO whatever brand..except mopar.o_O

7. I would have given it a 6, but Joe Nemechek getting a speeding penalty is worth an extra point. Remember, it's easier to gain positions on pit road.

We all know the best race of the weekend was Wednesday night.

It's all good. I agree the NW race was better than the Cup race, but still not great. The last few laps of the NW were certainly entertaining, but not much to get excited about prior to that. I just don't think Indy is an ideal place for stock cars. Didn't we have something like 75 lead changes in the Indy 500 this year? Yesterday on the track we had one, all others happened in the pits.

I can't really give this race a score. I didn't get a chance to see that much of it on TV but I did listen to all of it on the radio. I've got to say that the only thing more boring than a televised Brickyard race is the Indy radio team announcing the race. The MRN & PRN crews do a phenomenal job announcing these races IMO. Whatever the Indy radio team call themselves, they are flat out horrible. Fortunately that crew only gets one call a year.

I have said this many times, MRN is the best way to listen to the race. Even if your watching it..

race gets a 6. I guess following Eldora is a tough act to follow.

Is Barney Hall still on MRN? God, I haven't listened to MRN in a long time. When I was a kid, we would have to listen to the race on MRN in the summer because every weekend we'd be at the folks' cabin up in the da woods and on the way home on Sundays we'd still be in the car and miss NASCAR on TV.

Yes, he's still there. The career is winding down though. He doesn't make it to every MRN race anymore.

I don't remember the Daytona 500 because I went to a Daytona party and got crapfaced drunk.

I don't know what Daytona race y'all are talking about, but this year's Daytona 500 was awful. It was single file pretty much the entire race. No side-by-side racing except for a lap or so after every restart.

Damn ... how dare you remind people how terrible that race was.
