Bristol Fall Pre race Cup Thread

I cant believe Gordon is actually whining about stars not aligning for him. A 20 year NASCAR veteran crying about not being gifted a good position? Poor you Gordon, poor you.

Grow a damn pair. That's just shameful.

I hope he misses the chase. If anyone doesn't deserve to be in it is that bunch.

How do you practice @ 5th and qualify 32nd. Calling it right now. Predictable. Gordon is at the back & gets caught up in someone else's schit. Alan is too dumb to use pit strategy for track position.

Trying to keep the streak of top 20 starts.

When was the last time, he qualified anywhere near the front? I cannot for the life of me remember anything else other than that Daytona 500 second place qual.

I have lost complete faith in Alan. Guy is almost as useless as the guy driving.

You guys are ruthless! Jeeeeeeez. I am sick of Alan calling the shots though. I've seen him fail a lot more than the pit crew or the driver.

If he misses the chase, maybe it will ignite a new fire. If JJ wins the championship and Gordon misses the chase you know it's gonna sting even more. It's gotta make him want it more

Well the bad side is that he is starting in the 30s.

The good side is that he SEEMS to have a good fast car for tonight's race AND even more good news is that the worst Bristol race winner started in 38th so there is some slight hope.

Chex, since I'm not going to be here tomorrow, errr, today starting in a few hours, sing a prayer for me. :D

Morning here in Bristol. Sure it's 12 o'clock but @ DP's campsite that's considered to be the time to get up and start the day.

A long, hard partying kind of night here @ The Landing Campground. A bunch of new friends today. It's amazing what people will do for free t-shirts @ 3am around here but that's a different story.

Breakfast is in the books and it's time to start a great day here in Bristol. The weather is the best it has been all week long.

Happy race day people!

I can not wait for this race! In the meantime, I'm racing Bristol on my vintage ps2 just to get hyped up for the race! :)

I haven't played video games since I was 15/16 but PS2 is now considered "vintage" Always nice to be reminded how old one has grown:(

It is considered "retro" now. A lot of kids grew up with it like I grew up with the NES so they remember it as one of those things every kid had. I hate it because the idiots are driving up on the price on old consoles. Last time I went shopping for older games I saw N64s marked up to $70 when they were going for less than $20 a year ago. :(

It is a shame they haven't made a good NASCAR game since about 2005, the new ones are terrible. My friend had a recent one for his Xbox 360 and I was able to ride around on a flat tire for 10 laps and pass the entire field. He complained because I was "cheating" by turning off all the assists too, not my fault I know how to drive without auto braking. ;)

He also wouldn't race me at Martinsville, his excuse was: "Why the hell would I only want to go 80mph?". Oh and he wrecked a car every time he got a little behind then got mad about me pitting every yellow flag. I was like hey man, if you're going to wreck everything in sight I'm topping up on fuel and getting four fresh tires, I can pass the field in one lap anyway.

now hold it a minute. You are topping up on Sonoco race fuel and 4 fresh Goodyear tires and don't forget the Larry Mac accent. :)

Yeah, basically every EA Sports NASCAR game is terrible! I tried playing 2009 the other day, but I just couldn't do it! If you get loose and lose track position, the entire field slows down by like 40 m/h so you are caught up to them in no time. Plus, if you have cautions turned on and there is a crash, the cars involved do not pit, which means that debris is constantly falling off their car bringing out the yellow flag lap after lap. The only NASCAR game I play is Dirt to Daytona as it's by far the most realistic. I haven't played any of the newer games for the ps3, but I have heard they are just as bad.

Not sure if this has been discussed, but did Fox Sports 1 already make a change? Or is Bristol night Race Day always only an hour long?

They shortened it an hour, last week it was an hour but ended an hour before the pre race show FUBR.

I am GREEN with envy. Enjoy your day, dpk. Have enough fun for all of us.

This.

I was mowing my lawn today and there was a slight touch of fall in the air and I was thinking what a gorgeous day it must be up in Bristol. Then these guys on Raceday are saying how Bristol is on every race fan's bucket list and I'm like, yup.

Making sure to get drunk early, that way when Logano crashes on lap 10, you'll be too drunk to care? ;)
See ... things like this doucherrific post right here is a perfect example of why there'd be a 7 page long hate thread if Joey pulls out another one.

All right bread, don't pass out and miss the darn thing. This is probably the biggest race the 22 has been in so far.
Dont worry about me I can get to about 15 before I get sleepy.. then all I need's some pizza and mayeb some wings and Im good for the rest of night
