Busch Series

On the heels of DW wanting to put smaller carbs on the cup cars to slow them down, I have a question: Why don't the Busch cars run v-6's or a smaller displacement v-8 like a 305? Could this be a way of bringing in cost containment, thus a change like this in Busch would make any downsizing in the cup cars make more sense...just my thoughts.

They were at one time, sounded like indy cars as they went by!

The "junior" NASCAR series, Busch Grand National, used to run Ford Thunderbird, Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Pontiac Grand Prix, the only three cars still approved for stock-car racing. Their bodies were identical to the Winston Cup cars, with V6 engines in lighter chassis. Now they run similar-looking but lighter cars with low-compression 9.5:1 V8 engines. This change makes it less of a burden for teams that run both series.

BTW that was just a small "Old" quote form the article, as you can tell by the "Thunderbird" lol
