Cable cutters, rejoice

I have the radio on all day in my truck. I listen to AM. When I arrive to a job, I listen to the music that is downloaded onto my iPhone.

I listen to Rock 105 all day.

I store my PA system (a system that could power an entire literal NFL stadium or even NASCAR track) at the warehouse I work at so I just cut it on and use it.

Radio is free. No subscription fees, no buffering, no data overage charges.
I am staying with my paid youtube music account. I dont have the patience for the radio commercials or DJs. I have even climbed off a ladder to switch stations due to commercials.
Visuals like Susanna Hoffs also help.

The streaming experience has become so regressive.

I'm watching the Indiana Fever game on Peacock. When they go to commercial, I want to flip over the Indy 500 Qualifying. But, because this is streaming, that means opening an app, sitting through a 30 second commercial, then having to switch back to the other app when I want to tune back in, sit through a 30 second commercial.

My device supports PIP and multiview, but every single streaming service except Apple TV's service has ended support for PIP. So, a feature I had in 2021 for services I was paying $7 for, I do not have in 2025 paying $20-$30 for. Oh, just like I paid $10 for some of these and had 4K and ad-free viewing, and now pay $15 for SD/HD and 40 minutes of commercials per hour.

I miss cable. In that time, I could just flip back and forth between NBCSN and FOX pushing one button. Hell, in 20-******-13, I could watch both at the same time on DIRECTV.

The only way to be able to watch both at the same time now or be able to flip back and forth is ... internet piracy.

Legal streaming is the most miserable viewing experience.
