California Bonehead

I will say this. If Grubb plans to use the go for broke strategy he used during the chase, every member of that team needs to understand what their goal is. If guys start hanging their heads over lost top 5's, it could turn to disaster.

OK. I think Grubb was thinking about how hard nascar worked to finish the 500. If I remember correctly, it was just a sprinkle when Denny came in. If it stopped, they wouldn't even need to dry the track, and Denny wouldn't need more than 3 laps to get in front. 1% chance of getting the win is a go for broke attitude. I just hope Denny is totally on board and doesn't get down about falling in the standings.

How cool would it be to watch a few guys take HUGE risks and get some DNF's and a couple of wins? Until nascar gives points for winning the regular season, getting a couple of extra wins and making the top 10 by one point is what I would aim for.

2 different, and valid, strategies.

The problem may end up being Denny though. After a bad call at Phoenix, Denny threw his entire team under the bus, went in to Homestead with an attitude and wrecked himself out of a sure thing championship, then claimed Phoenix cost him the championship.

Remember when Kyle was pissed off at Chicagoland a couple years ago and couldn't win the race, so with about 15 laps to go, he intentionally wrecked his car while running inside the top-15? That took him out of the Chase. Denny's got that same attitude, as exhibited at Homestead a few years ago. He might get upset because Grubb takes a gamble and ends up doing something out of pure aggression that takes him out of the Chase.

True enough.

but that's the old Denny, this year is the new Denny ;)

So Joe Gibbs has THREE new drivers in CUP?

We all knew about the NEW more mature Pee Wee. (fewer episodes?)
We all knew about the NEW more mature Joey. (fewer mistakes?)
Now there's a NEW more mature Denny as well? (fewer meltdowns?)

Holy Frak!! Good luck, Coach!!

The new Joe Gibbs is emerging. He laughs and makes funny noises at almost anything he says. I think the JD circus is getting to him and he's losing his mind.

The new Joe Gibbs should come back to Washington to coach the new Washington Redskins and their new quarterback Robert Griffin, III. Although I wish the new Joe Gibbs would come in instead and become the new owner.

Sad to say, the impending rain made the race tolerable. The only hard racing I saw was from Tony, and one guy doesn't make a race. This is the kind of racing that brought 'push to pass' to F1.

Push to pass is Indy Car.

Drag Reduction Zone is F1.

IMO, the F1 system is superior. It gives an advantage to the car in the rear only under certain circumstances.
It's built to counter act dirty air. Genius really.

I hate them both, but it's the best they can do for excitement in open wheel racing. Why not just have the lead car deploy a boat anchor?

:lurk:

Stop ****ting on a good idea.

I say this.
Watch the Malaysia F1 race that was on the same weekend, and was just as rain soaked race as the NASCAR race in CA.

Then watch the NASCAR race that happened the same day in CA.

And tell me which one was more exciting to watch. Which one was more exciting to watch. AND, which one provided more wheel to wheel rubbing and bumping. I bet the F1 race had more hits and daring passes.

All I remember about CA is Tony putting the slide on Kevin, and Kevin crying about Tony's hand out the window. Tony pulled the same slide job on Dennis.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnddd. That's about it. I mean, the race was fast, no caution until what lap. SNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOZE.

I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO READY FOR M-VILLE!

I tried to DVR that race, but the rain delay messed things up. It was very exciting though.

Meanwhile, nascom has started with the hotdogs already. No wonder everyone thinks we're all drunk and over weight rednecks.

'There's a race at Martinsville next week'

'Dey gut dem red hot dergs. I luv dem red hotdergs.'

'But, there's a race...'

I can already see Rutledge reporting from the concession stand...

Sad, but true...

Rut does like his mystery meat tube steaks!

You seem to know him better than most. :D

It was funny seeing him flip that dirt truck at full speed on Topgear.

Please Robby, no comments about Rut liking your dirt road.
