California Race Thread

Except for Jimmie winning, the race was good :D Sorry JJ fans. Good dicing midpack kept it good. I'll post a couple of pics tomorrow.

I agree, good race except for the Johnson factor. He's a great driver. I'm just tired of seeing him win.

And here I thought you loved this track.

I'm as so happy to be out of that smog hole.
Once I climbed up to about the 3,500 ft level and got to Victorville, the air was clear and the sun was out. Breathing that foul air the last 4 days was enough for me.

Don't know who sang the national anthem but they are an embarrassment.

Well, onward back to NC. And I get to watch Charlotte from home this weekend.

Next stop is Texas.

If you think that turnout was low, check out the "crowd" athe ARCA race on SPEED.

Threat of rain + Panthers game. Of course there was low turnout at the ARCA race.

Los Angeles only got 70,000 people to their race? In LA?? There's no excuse for that.

65,000 showed up for a Nationwide race in rural Iowa. And LA can only scrounge up 70,000 (generous estimate)???

I say this again Andy....let it go. You're not going to change anything about Nascar's schedule by the never-ending whining about it. Like it or not, California is there to stay.

Andy, you might want to cut down on the man love for Iowa Speedway until you see what it does next year...tracks are always gangbusters in their innagural year. On top of that, IIRC you are giving them 10,000 more in attendance than it actually had.

Name one other major sport that wouldn't be thrilled to have "only" 70,000 at one of its events.

The average capacity of NFL stadiums is around 60,000 and they're not selling out like they once did either. Fontana's problem was that they over built their seating to 90,000.
