This. All day long. All day. Thank you for this post.So NASCAR creates a problem where it did not exist, and then blames the problem for their lack of action? God they must think we are the dumbest people on earth. Hey Phelps you moron, you don't have the room to build anything bigger than a short track (which is fine with me) because YOUR PEOPLE SOLD THE PROPERTY! That's like saying you are homeless because you burned your own house down, and then blaming the fire department for you being homeless. And shame on Crandall for not have the.... well whatever, to point out that very fact. Any issue with racing in Fontana is wholly a creation of NASCAR and the France family and them alone. It's one of those things where they are either evil or stupid, take your pick.
Billable hours from lawyers. What happened to all the money they made selling the land?
You kidding? That sucker keeps going higher and higher every day. They are doing all of the developing, roads and utilities for them.funny that nascar is still holding on to that piece of ground.
Heck build a big enough warehouse and you can race inside it.I've seen the comments about how it doesn't look good with all those warehouses around. Nashville has quite a few warehouses behind it. Those aren't hurting it.
Update is not good.
Along with numerous accommodations and tourist attractions within walking distance of the track site, those things are what make the street race an entirely different experience from a Chicagoland race.
The street race is much more likely to attract folks of all shapes, sizes and interests.
They could at least open one up to use like the Monaco tunnel. The Gerbils would never stop talking about it.Heck build a big enough warehouse and you can race inside it.
A multi year contract with San Diego or any decent sized city in California would be ideal. The speedway is smack in the middle of a heavy industrial area and it is only going to get more so in the future.Along with numerous accommodations and tourist attractions within walking distance of the track site, those things are what make the street race an entirely different experience from a Chicagoland race.

How many semi trucks can they ramp contests. There will be more semis than people at that place. They could at least open one up to use like the Monaco tunnel. The Gerbils would never stop talking about it.
They could actually build a track made up of a series of glass (green house) containers. No More Rain Delays. How many semi trucks can they ramp contests. There will be more semis than people at that place.
I don't want to echo @Revman but, are you bored?I counted over 90 semi loading docks on just one side of the big building easily 90 spots on the other side.
Being near residential areas hasn't worked out very well for California racetracks, I would think being in a commercial district would be a plus. Most of those businesses probably aren't even open on the weekend, so there is less traffic conflict. Plus, it already existed, which solves a LOT of issues. If they want to sell the property, fine, but at least be a MAN about it and just say it, instead of the current dog and pony show. If you want respect, you have to GIVE some.A multi year contract with San Diego or any decent sized city in California would be ideal. Not so at all. Shipping goes on 24/7. Those warehouses are built for dry freight not refer and freight will be coming in from all over the country all times of the day and night.Being near residential areas hasn't worked out very well for California racetracks, I would think being in a commercial district would be a plus.
