Careful Denny.....

He just called NASCAR out the other day for posting his paint scheme just to trigger people. Obviously, the guy's focused on racing.

Then maybe he should atleast try harder at "racing" instead of "coasting" and or crashing? :owquitit::dirtbike::flushed::crash::crash:

Sometimes I wonder why those who bitch about drivers who did what Bubba don't understand that part of the game is to draw attention and create a storyline. Are we still talking about his if Bubba simply answers Gordon's dumb ass question, "Do you think today is the day?" with a "Yes."

Really? Refuse to talk on National TV and plug your sponsor, speak to your fans is creating a storyline? He's always been clever plugging his sponsors (and even ones he didnt Represent-Dominos) which not to long ago he didnt have any. In this business you can come and go in a flash.

Betcha everybody knows that he was wearing Beats by Dre headphones to block out the BS in his Door Dash fire suit. Plug was made....sometimes fewer words speak louder (remember, "Everything is Great!"). No way anybody can convince me that by answering, "Yes!" to Gordon's goofball question is he going to get more exposure for those paying the bills. Now, if you want to talk about Bubba ignoring the CEO's of Beats by Dre and Door Dash, well, then you have something. Additionally, I would agree that you can come and go in a heart-Beats (See what I did there?). If he doesn't win, that's guaranteed. Do you think that Beats by Dre loves that he was using their product as a means of getting ready to do just that? I do.....and then there is the Tweet pointed out by @ChexOrWrex ....

This pretty much wraps it up.

Imagine being a public figure, and taking off your damn headphones to say Hi and plug your sponsor....

I imaging an underfunded team would love that opportunity. But, he's big time now and doesn't need to...

Nice spin. Its a crappy look and disrespectful.

Thanks. So you really needed that "Yes," to Gordon's question? I respect that. I don't. Honestly, I was up off my couch yelling, "Hell yes! Bubba is ready!" I am not saying that to be a dick. Just being honest. As noted by at least one other poster....I have issues. I respect your take. Just disagree.

I dont know what his answer would have been.

Maybe he was just embarrassed that his hype music was "Baby Shark" so he had to blow them off? Mountain out of a mole hill, I get it. Unfortunately for Bubba, if he gets the wealth and winning opportunities that come with a ride like this, then he has to accept the "haters" and blowback that comes with it. Chase got the ultimate clap back with his by coming through with wins and then a championship. Perhaps Bubba will rise to the occasion and do the same.

I don't get the analogy. I work with the public, and NASCAR drivers work with the public. I get paid a 5-digit salary to speak to people when spoken to, represent the company who's writing my checks, and overall be engaged with people even though I'm only in front of customers maybe 25% of the time and it's not my primary function. Bubba's getting paid a lot more to do the same crap.

I feel bad for him somewhat. I saw him walk unescorted up the 80+ rows of grandstands at Bristol during the short track event there in 2017 with fans all around. He'd get swamped by people if he did that now, and not all the comments would be "nice race Bubba". Fame is a double-edged sword, and, in my opinion, he's having a hard time adjusting to it (Blue Emu/iRacing and now this).

I dont know what his answer would have been.
Honestly, I wouldn't have listened because the question was so stupid. I looked at his logos more because in MY fantasy land I wanted Bubba to want it like I do. His reaction....and I do trust his explanation....but even if one doesn't.....was raw and authentic....even if not politically correct. Jimmie had tremendous success in this sport, but will never be seen as he should because of the vanilla thing. Bubba is not that.

Bubba spoke. There are some who feel that he should speak as they would want him to--that is their filter. Bubba is earning his money. We are still talking pre-race from Sunday on a Thursday. We aren't doing that if he responds to Gordon's stupid question with a "Yes." This kid has a very strong backbone. Not worried about him at all. I believe that the only thing that is killing him is the performance. I feel like he wants it badly. There are also those who claim that they want Bubba to win, and then spread his message. He isn't going to wait on that, and he shouldn't. He will be fine....but he won't be here if he doesn't win.

I needed a bigger bag of popcorn! LOL

Considering the top 27 cars in the point standings have a Top 10 and Bubba does not, he may want to talk to National Network TV whenever he can.

AND....if you scroll down you will see where Bubs blew off Jeff Gordon who was trying to get an interview pre-race? Wow, he’s big time now.....
Not for nothing, but Bubba was dealing with depression.

Unless you want to tell us mental illness doesn't exist.

Just read through your posts. I didn't realize we had Facebook fans here. Come on man.

I have never been driver-centric....really....but I love Bubba. Courageous at a very young age. I can't imagine how awesome it could be if his performance catches up to his persona. How many people did he inspire by talking openly about his depression? No way to count.....but some get all twisted up in a perception (or reality) that he shunned an attempt to ask a stupid question. Bubba has helped far more than he has hurt....in fact, I don't think that he has hurt anybody.

The noose incident left him with a black eye that will take a long time to heal, if it ever does. If not for that he would be right up there with Chase in terms of popularity

If he keeps throwing footballs with the fans he will be alright.
Just needs to avoid some people at RF.

You are going off in a completely different direction, no one said he hurt anybody.

Who doesn't deal with depression in some form or another? I doubt his depression had anything to do with blowing off the network.

I don't allow depression to affect my responsibilities.

FB fans? WTH does that mean?

Well, some butts are sure hurt because we are still talking about this.

Are you a clinician?

Or are you just blowing smoke out of your butt as usual?

Why aren't you asking the person that ascribed his behavior to depression? What I said applies to millions, not just a driver.

That person is a clinician.

You are not. I'm sure he'll respond.

Oh ok...then his or her diagnosis based his/her vast personal interaction with Bubba and time spent with him prior to the incident would definitely override my opinion...

Bubba didn't even use it as an excuse. RWB and "focus".....

He didn’t offer a diagnosis.

You should probably stick to subject matter with which you’re familiar.

He inferred that Bub’s blowing off of TV and Jeff G was due to or in part due to an episode of depression. What else would you call that. Symptom = diagnosis of disease. He even went as far to defend it as an illness.

And I will comment on here on whatever I wish. Thanks for the advice though....

His work is in the mental health field.

Depression is not an illness? Again, stay in your lane.

I didn’t say that. I said he went as far to make that statement to bolster his “diagnosis”.
Reading comprehension outside yours?
