They put it into an orbit around Saturn that had it diving through the space between the planet and its innermost ring, gathering data about the core and other stuff.

Closer and closer to the atmosphere until it burns up on its last dive.

The data transmitted back and forth from Earth and the Saturn orbit, traveling at the speed of light (186,000 miles per second), took 80 minutes to reach the receivers.
