Does anyone here like cats?

I have 4, yes, too many. One is my daughter's kitten, she'll be taking it with her when she moves after college graduation. I thought I'd share my cats with you, they are awful cute.

This is monster

OMG *melts from the cuteness*

The look on Sofie's face is priceless.
She was the cuddliest cat in the shelter but as soon as we got her home she became scared of everything. She will only approach when your lying in bed so its a rare picture of her lol.

That is great she volunteers. Maybe she'll bring home more. LOL
That's how it started with the kkittens. At one point we had 12 of them in the back room, most got adopted. She decided on 3 more after I caved on 1 more. Here's a picture of three of them now.

I'm a cat person through and through. None right now because Big Dog thinks they are breakfast.
But I will have cats in the future --- after Big Dog goes to the Rainbow Bridge.

2 of my kitties are skittish, they run for the hills if they think anyone is at the door.

It's strange, we had cats the whole time I was growing up. All that time I couldn't wait until I could get my own dog.

Mine all get along. They love each other. When my dog, Mocha passed, the cats kept Elvira, my other dog, from feeling lonely.

Pets are wonderful things. My daughter had a guinea pig, that thing was every bit as lovable as a dog or cat. Only thing you can't housebreak a guinea pig

Turbo was born in a horse barn and was smuggled into the house by my daughter,,with the assistance of my wife. We had hoped against hope but we had to put him down 9 days before Christmas last year, he had just turned 22. Our Vet asked how our dog Naja was, she was battling Cushing disease. He saw her and we put her down a week before Christmas. Not a very Merry one around here,
In January we got Idjit, another kitten born in a horse barn. This cat is crazy, runs through the house like her tails on fire, follows me around the house like a dog.
Amazing how these fuzzy creatures we call pets affect our lives .:)
Always into something.

I've always been a fan of dogs, but about a year and half ago, I moved to Arkansas to live by myself for the first time and I just felt like I needed a roommate...one who wouldn't get on my nerves (or so I thought)! Cats are much better for apartments and people living alone since they don't need as much attention as dogs do. About two months after I moved here, I made a trip to the local shelter and as soon as I walked into one of the cat rooms, this thing came right up to me and started climbing on me. Keep in mind, she was only roughly 6-8 weeks old, so I just couldn't resist. She tricked me, because she's been a pain for the past year, but I love her anyway! :) To my surprise though, she lets me sleep in peace with the bedroom door shut. Our old cat would constantly scratch on the door and not quit until I opened it.

Gorgeous kitty.

Personally I can live with or without pets. Too many years of having to care for other family members' pets. But I always try to treat them nicely.

We have two "used" cats. "Used" meaning they used to live with somebody else or are strays that found us. We've had a couple dozen "used" cats since we got married, and they've all been fine. Cats aren't as aloof and unaffectionate as people believe, in my experience.

We like dogs too, but don't have the time to take care of them properly. We're not going to leave them chained in the yard. Usually nobody's home all day, and cats are just fine... they don't have to be walked and you can leave them several days of food and they will also be fine (won't gobble it up as soon as they see it and them starve). We can go away for several days and leave cats alone with no problems... go away for a week or more and just need somebody to check them, refill bowls and clean litter boxes once in a while.

Maybe after I retire and am home all day we'll get a dog or two. But until then cats are a lot easier.

I like cats as long as they aren't on my property. I do not like irresponsible pet owners that allow their cats to roam onto other people's property.
There are cats in my neighborhood that use my flowerbeds for litter boxes, spray cat piss on my screen door and vehicle tires. I generally remove these cats from the area.

When we brought Naja home she quickly learned that the cat Turbo ruled to roost. Turbs walked outside on the deck once, looked around and that was it. Only time he left the house was in his carrier for his yearly vet trips.

OMG Kkfan, Ellie just cracks me up. Is she as psycho as she looks? That's a cat I could own.
Yep you look at here she freaks out and bolts across the house. Or if you happen to walk towards here while she is running she will zig off in a different direction

I have the same problem with dogs running loose.
At least you don't have to watch out for a strange cat running up and biting you.
