Agreed. They already lost him for how many weeks due to his injury, so there's no way they're parking him in addition to that. If asked why Bubba was parked and Chase wasn't, they'll probably say Bubba was parked due to the physical escalation aspect of his situation.

They can say anything they want. You and I both know what the media will latch onto, and frankly I cannot argue against them. (media) NASCAR doesn't need that, especially with tv deal negotiations going on.

NASCAR has ALREADY said Bubba was suspended for the on-track incident. If they let Chase Elliott slide, it'll draw two narratives:

The video and SMT data doesn't lie. Chase was already moving down to wreck Hamlin before the contact from Brad Keselowski.

“Our actions are really specific to what took place on the race track,” O’Donnell told host Dave Moody. “And when we look at how that incident occurred, in our minds, really a dangerous act. We thought that was intentional and put other competitors at risk. NASCAR can't win. Some will like their decision, some won't.
Personally, it doesn't affect me one way or the other. It's entertaining as hell to watch people turn themselves inside out

Nascar has a rule that you can't get out of your car and assault other drivers. That is probably Section 4.3A. This rule was put in place because drivers like Tony were throwing helmets, safety equipment etc at drivers rolling by under caution. Now they just shoot them the bird. They don't get out of the car under caution and run over and assault another driver.

The whole deal with Hamlin was bone headed on multiple levels. Yeah, as much as I dislike Denny, you don't hook someone in the RR at those speeds no matter what. And if you're going to retaliate, don't take yourself out in the process! You gotta be more methodical instead of letting a knee jerk reaction ruin your day and possibly hurt someone. That was bad form and bad strategy. Chase is usually really good at keeping a cool head and planning an appropriate method of revenge, so yesterday was a big disappointment.

Oh well. Life goes on.
