WOW That was insane, Newman flew out front and then hit the wall!
 
I like how they took a lap away so Gordon could win it. What a load of crap.
 
Am I seeing things or did it say 2 to go and then white flag when he crossed the line?

A G/W/C only consists of 2 laps of racing. When the pace car pulls off the lap count displays 3 laps to go and once the cars take the green flag it goes to 2 laps, then the white flag for the final lap and then the checkered flag.

But Ella wasn't at the race. His sister was tho. It's the 1st Cup race she's ever seen him win. That could be a trivia question at some point. Before the race he sure had most of the media around him. I actually felt sorry for some of the guys who were left hanging. Like Bobby who just leaned against the back of his car. At least Ryan came over to talk to Jimmie while they waited to get into the Tundras for their ride around.
The driver fireworks was a disaster. They started OK, but then whoever was doing them got confused then they stopped altogether. Then they set all of them off afterwards while the trucks were going around.
During the red flag security kept the fans away from the fence for the drivers except for Lil'E. He had driven up inside Truex right next to the fence and it was mobbed. Easily a hundred people pushing and shoving to get a glimpse of him. Security wasn't even near the crowd, just letting it happen. Then when the started back he pulled up beside Jimmie, who hadn't moved yet waiting his turn, and Lil'E gunned his engine several times next to him. I don't know what that was about. After they got going he drifted to the back to get in line.
