Chasing The Weather

I think MWR taught everybody a valuable lesson about open mics last year, but I think there will still be shenanigans o' plenty come Chase time.
yeah I think some of us brought up the "team racing" that could happen. Blocking, screwed up pits stops, whatever it takes to get a team mate in. I can't see anybody racing that wins the first race and is automatically in the second or third round and there are two more races to go in the round. They reset the points every round. Time for the 100% rule come chase time. I hope non chasers win every race and all the chasers have to race for points.

Regardless, the Chase format will be different again next year. :)
I hope. The previous formats lasted 3, 4, and 3 years respectively, hopefully this one gets euthanized after just one.

Although, I better be careful what I wish for. Next year's Chase might involve lifelines, an immunity idol, and a fan vote.

In 2007, the Chase race at Kansas was shortened due to darkness. I agree with above posters about having lights at the races.

New Hampshire, Dover, Talladega and Martinsville all don't have lights. Neither does Sonoma ;)

That's already been a part of the Chase. Kevin Harvick parked Kyle Busch at Homestead a few years ago because Kyle was chop-blocking Harvick left and right to help Denny Hamlin.

I guess we all see this differently or maybe it's just me that does? I've always thought the pending rain has caused them to race harder knowing that the race was bound to be shortened. Again, probably just my view on things.

Just ain't the same. Can't race too hard for the win when you don't know where the finish line is.

Get bent.

When we get in the chase I think you'd have to be fresh off the turnip truck to believe a driver who doesn't have a chance himself won't do what is necessary to secure a higher position for a teammate.

rain would affect all chase cars equally.
just part of race strategy.

I don't think anyone wants to see another crapshoot in the Chase. We already have Talladega.

NASCAR spent hours working on the burnt surface at Daytona a couple of years ago and I expect no less effort during the Chase. Way too much at stake not to go all in.

i'm sure nascar will spare no effort ta complete all chase races.

if it does rain tho.....teams gotta have contingency plans....just like a flat tire.
