Forgive me please if I’ve missed it but what is Chevrolet going to race next year with the Camaro not being in production? Corvette? Suburban? Seriously, I’ve probably missed it.

Apparently they were told they can run it however long they want, but they'd have to name it something else after 2025 I believe. Whether Chevrolet would want them to do that is another story as it wouldn't match up with their current lineup lol.

I read the thread title in the context of tonight's race and was expecting a WAYYYY different thread about NASCAR cracking down of manufacturer collusion next year.
I hadn’t watched the race entirely yet but see what you mean…

They'll probably switch to Cadillac, or put a Corvette logo on a Camaro body.

This country is so weird. People drive pickups and SUVs and bitch about gas prices and are now mad that ICE models of sedans and coupes are being done away with.l

All Chevrolet has to do is pick a model they want to use and get a heat gun to remove the Camaro decals. After this is done just reapply the decals you’d like and you’re good to go. Perhaps use the Blazer nameplate or go back into the archives and call it a Biscayne. This is one issue that I’m not losing any sleep over.

I would think if they stay with the camaro they will not get to do say front end updates or am I wrong

GM is already putting Cadillac branding on Prototype-class sports cars. Toyota has a Supra logo on its stock cars. Why are Caddy or Corvette such a reach?
Because IMSA prototypes and NASCAR Cup Series are advertising to two different demographics. Notice how Toyota doesn't run the Lexus LC in Xfinity.

Submission of a new body design has to be made in September … approx. 18 months prior to the date of its first intended use.

So … last month for a 2026 Daytona 500 debut. Deadline missed.

I think the corvette would miss the nascar demographics. How many fans can afford to buy one of those?

GM is VERY protective of the Corvette nameplate and the aura around it. They have VERY tightly controlled where, when and who races them as much as humanly possible since the C5 debuted in the late 90's. There is about as much chance of a Camaro bodied stock car being badged a Corvette as there is a blizzard in hell.
